the thing i think people are forgetting is that multi is not hindu. no one was attacking ishan for his culture wearing jata. like… not a single soul. that’s the problem. the issue is a white man appropriating another culture. it was never about ishan, and yet here we are !

the qsmp being multicultural doesn't mean that every culture has to adapt to the USA, but it can mean listening to an Indian person talking about hindu culture from 4000 years ago and the fact that people the US feel so entitled to correct him on his own culture is embarrassing

and this isn’t even me trying to be argumentative. i’m serious. i actually do not understand why he derailed the conversation so badly to defend something no one was attacking. it’s about a white man appropriating culture he doesn’t belong to. not other cultures.

i won’t lie, i’ll never understand why ishan interjected himself into the conversation and made it 10x worse bc the subject matter is multi and multi is not hindu, he is a white man with dreads. like i understand he was preemptively defend his culture but it was never under fire
