@aaron_renn Obviously any MSA with a hub/pilot hub/focus city has something going for it, but it would be objectively more useful to compare population rank to (enplanement rank rank - connections). Can simply encode hub/pilot bases/focus cities with true/false.

@aaron_renn This is silly. All connecting traffic counts towards enplanements. Comparing a metro's airport's raw enplanement rank to its MSA population rank is just an over-complicated way to identify airline hubs/pilot bases/focus cities.

Every Midwestern city in their data table ranks worse for enplanements than for population - another data point suggesting less economic connectivity for this region's cities.
