@L_editrixie @Archwinger1 @layxsnv You're not doing it wrong, you're simply clearer on your writing. Also, you might not even need the comma if you have context. Sentences don't live in isolation. In Spanish we don't have that issue in this case, the verb calls for a preposition for the direct complement.

If you want to make it your life's mission to write around the issue of using a comma before and/or just so you can omit this optional comma, that's fine. You should see all the ways people use "however", commas, and semicolons
