It is interesting. Since she was born we've gone from sub 5% of the population born overseas to well over 15%

Pretty obvious what my point is. There has already been punishment meted out for the man who assaulted the man in the coffee shop and went on to assault the women police officers.
So this trial was only about the ABH assault on the male officer. I am not sure many are aware of this.

There's plenty of people commenting on the airport assault retrial without knowing the facts. So here's some information for the people who struggle to find the truth, even with Google at their fingertips.........

They were the ones present at the time. Others arrived quickly. If the women, who were closest, had not gone immediately to apprehend the suspects, and the suspects had got away, the WPC's would have been in trouble for that
The real problem here is that these men assaulted a man with his family. They should be in massive trouble for that. But no, confronted by two WPCs, this violent man then tries to knock the head off two WPCs.
He should get a seriously punitive sentence for that, years in prison. But some people in the jury decided that would not happen. I would hope that a Judge is able to direct a jury but do not know enough about our legal system.
I hope that there is a private prosecution, by the WPCs, but I do not know enough about the law. It is a calamity for the safeguarding of the people who work in our emergency services and families hoping to travel safely through @manairport They should assume that violent visitors to the airport are not going to be robustly dealt with. I am sure international travellers will see this furore and change their plans about travelling to this airport

@ant_stop63015 @JuliaHB1 I’m not saying WPCs don’t do a good job but they shouldn’t be put in positions of obvious compromise like this - there are trained females who know how to handle themselves but the laws of physicality prevail in violent confrontations - you need the skills or overwhelming force!

@ant_stop63015 @JuliaHB1 Watch the PSNI series atm - great tv but they go in mob-handed & in numbers to rapidly suppress violent individuals. In this Mcr case you had the prospect of an armed officer losing control of his weapon to violent thugs - no room for error there!

Disagree! Police officers at Manchester airport do not only go to incidents like this, in fact this will be a rare incident. They might just as well go to an incident where a WPC is an asset. What are you going to say .. only burly male police officers may work at Manchester Airport. I think we do need more physical police officers but, to be honest, I often se women in gyms who are substantially stronger than a lot of men

@ant_stop63015 @JuliaHB1 They have to be physically competent to do a challenging & difficult job it’s not hard to understand surely? Slightly built female officers unless highly trained aren’t going to be able to rapidly subdue violent aggressive males unless exceptionally trained or in large numbers
