I spent a few weeks in France and half the businesses asked me to pay in cash. This can’t end well.

I just gave a try to the current Mac build of @inkscape - it's amazing. Congratulations to the team. Way past the X11 integration that I remember. UI looking sharp, handling 500MB files like a charm.

One Saturday 12 years ago, Stripe had a massive support backlog so we held a “hackathon” to clear tickets all day. I spent my weekend answering emails and somehow remember it fondly. Forgive the Instagram filter. It was of the time.

@Donzanoid Although I think the usual practice was more to inject a DLL in the process and directly hook into the main HWND. Or was it with something like "Find HWND using window title matching". Can't exactly remember 😅

Really liking Zig right now, it's simple and pretty. I Wonder how easy it is to use OpenGL or maybe Raylib 🤔

@rydgel Strings are not first class citizen in zig, making it harder to work with utf8 like random access indexing, get the length (not the number of bytes) and simply no syntactic sugar at all.

@antcatel What kind of problems do you have missing this type? Genuine question

@antcatel Seems like there is indeed, looking at the code of: github.com/Not-Nik/raylib… That does look easy indeed, first-class interoperability. I guess it is kinda harder with C++?

@rydgel Given the C interoperability is seamless in Zig, using glfw or Raylib should be straightforward. As for writing idiomatic Zig with those, there must be existing bindings :)

Full-text search on 500GB+ of data is keeping me awake at night. MySQL's full-text index just can't handle this. Often takes minutes. And Meilisearch, as fast as it is, is hard to wrangle to get it to get only precise results. Anyone here experienced with search at this size?
