A normal Monday building a startup from Bali:
6:00 - awake before the alarm, still getting used to that
6:30 - rice field walk, protein shake, planning the week in my head
8:00 - deep work while the US sleeps, the best focus hours I get
12:00 - lunch, then straight to foot massage
14:00 - back to shipping, inbox, client async
18:00 - straight to the gym and sauna
19:00 - dinner, early night, ready for the week
Mondays used to be the day I dreaded. Now they're my favorite.

A year ago I changed how I run my business.
Short term, I lost money doing it.
Here's the biggest shift I made:
• I cut way down on calls
• I dropped several LinkedIn content clients, on purpose
• I stopped taking 10pm calls just because the US was awake
• I keep my evenings free
• I stopped working weekends completely
• I moved almost everything to async
When I did this, my income dropped. Fewer clients, fewer calls, less "availability." It felt like a mistake for a while.
Now my week looks like this:
- Mornings are deep work while the West sleeps.
- Afternoons are gym, padel, or volleyball.
- Client work happens async, on my terms.
- Evenings and weekends are mine.
And here's the part I didn't expect: I earn more now than I did before. Calmer, less available, more boundaries, and more money.
Turns out being harder to reach made the work better. PostHero started growing faster.
This is the whole reason I build the way I do. Pretty cool watching it actually work.

Spent last Sunday in the recovery zone at my gym. Sauna, pool, repeat.
Somewhere between rounds I opened my laptop and did a bit of work on Posthero.
Honestly? Epic.
This is the routine I want. Not stuck in an office, just working from wherever feels good that day.
Building a startup + working from wherever = 🖤

My life in Bali is boring on paper:
• Up early, rice field walk, no phone
• Deep work on PostHero while the US and Europe sleep
• Lunch with founders building real things
• Gym, padel, or volleyball most afternoons
• Same small circle of friends
• In bed early, genuinely happy about it
That's the week. Every week.
People hear "Bali" and picture beach clubs and full moon parties. That version's real. It's just not the one that builds anything.
I did the exciting version my first year here. Fun, and completely useless for the work. The boring version is the one that actually pays off: deep sessions, good people, sport, sleep, repeat.
Turns out you don't need a break from a life you actually like.

Last weekend I rode enduro in Bali. Black volcanic sand, then straight into the jungle.
It got real fast. One guy in our group lost the bike on a turn and nearly went off a cliff. He stopped just short of the edge. Genuinely scary moment.
New respect for anyone who does this weekly. Enduro is no joke.
But the rest of it? Pure adrenaline. I came back buzzing, and Monday I felt like I could move mountains at work.
Turns out the best thing for work is getting far away from it for a bit.

A normal Friday building a startup from Bali:
6:30 - walk past rice fields
8:00 - yoga, still bad at it, still going
9:00 - coworking, deep work while the West sleeps
12:30 - lunch with entrepreneurs, half the table is building something you'll hear about in a year
14:00 - back to shipping
17:00 - client call
20:00 - basketball, running around like I'm 20 again
No commute, no office politics, nothing crazy.
