Between a VW ID.Buzz and a Volvo EX90 for a family of 5: which one would you pick? The buzz is cheaper but not that much different. Both are above 90k.

Last Friday, I gave a talk to my friends at @FactorialEs about cell architecture. It was also a great reminder for me of how companies are using Kafka in production. While they aren't using Flink or even Java-based clients, they're quite happy with the results so far.

Question for you Kafka users out there: is there a serializer which resolves Avro/ProtoBuf schemas statically? I.e. instead of connecting to a schema registry at runtime, I'd like to provide schemas and their known ids at build time to my app. Is there such a thing?

@antonmry Wait, where did it say it replaces Kafka? Flink still needs a source. FLUSS is just replacing the state/tables you create in the middle? Did I get that wrong?

@gunnarmorling @kroxylicious I missed that section in the doc. It's a very interesting use case, in particular if it can be combined with "fetch from closest replica" to avoid cross-AZ network costs even with multiple clusters

Very impressed with @GoogleAI NotebookLM! I've just attached a @ElectricityMaps dataset with carbon intensity data and it was able to generate a summary and a pretty good podcast explaining it in detail 🤯
