For me, Absolute Batman and absolute Martian Manhunter (sadly stopping at 12) are the top tier absolute books. Have dropped all the rest, but picking up Green Arrow.

I am surprised that so many people loved the 2000’s comics. I thought it was universally hated, at least growing up in this era people hated it at the time.

I’ll die on a hill to say the 2000’s is the best decade for comics. Yeah Batman sucked, but everything else was amazing compelling stories. Hell Batman had a great decade prior in the 90’s so it’s an even trade.

@SplinterBlade44 @theshinecomics Yes. That was a non-canon series by Steve Orlando in ~2018. So fairly recent. I say non-canon since he’s called Detective John Jones, which has been his white alter ego since his introduction in the 1950’s but in this version John Jones is black (I.e. not a different character).

Manhunter is a green Martian (whose human form is primarily a white guy - John Jones), and Miss Martian is a white Martian taking the form of a green Martian.

The first time I can remember him in a black form in the comics was as a black farm worker on the Kent farm, keeping an eye on young Clark.
