STATEHOUSE PRESS RELEASE PRESIDENT TINUBU MOURNS THE PASSING OF FORMER UBA CHAIRMAN, CHIEF ISRAEL OGBUE   President Bola Tinubu has commiserated with the family, friends, and associates of the late Chief Israel Ogbue, former Chairman of the United Bank for Africa (UBA), who passed away at the age of 99.   With a distinguished career in the Federal Civil Service, the National Insurance Corporation (NICON), and NAL Merchant Bank, Chief Ogbue served as a non-executive director of UBA from 2005 until 2011, when he was appointed Chairman. He served on the board until 2013. Throughout his tenure, he displayed dignity and strategic foresight and provided steady, principled leadership during a pivotal period in the bank’s transformation.   Chief Ogbue was the father of Dr Awele Elumelu, the wife of UBA Group Chairman Tony Elumelu.   The President extends his condolences to the Elumelu family and the extended family members over this loss. He also sympathises with UBA's Board, management, and staff.   President Tinubu acknowledges the numerous testimonies praising the exemplary life and times of the late UBA Chairman, who was a devoted family man, committed public servant, and a Christian. He lived humbly, dedicating his time, treasures, and experience to serving the church, the poor, the vulnerable, and his community.   The President prays that Almighty God will receive the soul of the departed patriarch and bless his family.   Bayo Onanuga Special Adviser to the President  (Information & Strategy)  February 22, 2026

Again, let me repeat this today, one day, the northerners will realize that their actual problem has never been the Igbos or the southeast. Their real enemies has never been the southeast. Just one day sha, it’s a matter of time. Till then, we watch.

To me, Nigeria knew it very well that Ndigbo had already gone on their desperate way. We are not part of this contraption anymore, so it doesn't bleed my heart that the Igbo name is not the history of yeye Nigeria book. Were you surprised? Nigeria is failed state people are just breathing but not living. Hoswash!

STATEHOUSE PRESS RELEASE PRESIDENT TINUBU APPROVES TARGETED INCENTIVES TO UNLOCK JOBS, FX INFLOWS FROM SHELL’S BONGA SOUTHWEST PROJECT AND OTHER DEEP OFFSHORE PROJECTS   President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the gazetting of targeted, investment-linked incentives to support the proposed Bonga South West deep-offshore oil project by Shell and its partners.   The President also directed his Special Adviser on Energy, Mrs. Olu Verheijen, to facilitate the gazette of the incentives in line with Nigeria’s existing legal and fiscal frameworks.   Receiving the Shell delegation led by its Global Chief Executive Officer, Wael Sawan, President Tinubu said the incentives are disciplined, targeted, and globally competitive, designed to attract new capital without undermining government revenues.    “These incentives are not blanket concessions,” the President stated. “They are ring-fenced and investment-linked, focused on new capital and incremental production, strong local content delivery, and in-country value addition.   “My expectation is clear: Bonga South West must reach a Final Investment Decision within the first term of this administration.”   President Tinubu emphasised that the Bonga South West project is strategic to Nigeria’s economy, with the potential to create thousands of direct and indirect jobs, generate significant foreign-exchange inflows, and deliver sustained government revenues over the life of the project. He added that the project would also deepen Nigerian participation in offshore engineering, fabrication, logistics, and energy services.   The President reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to policy stability, regulatory certainty, and speed, noting that these reforms are critical to restoring investor confidence and positioning Nigeria as a preferred destination for large-scale energy investment.    He further noted that Shell and its partners have invested nearly US$7 billion in Nigeria in the past 13 months, particularly in Bonga North and HI, describing this as a clear sign that Nigeria’s economic and energy-sector reforms are delivering results.   In his remarks, Mr. Sawan said Nigeria’s investment climate has improved remarkably under the Tinubu administration, adding that Shell is increasingly confident in Nigeria as a destination for long-term investment.   Members of the Shell delegation included senior executives from Shell’s global and Nigerian leadership.   Sunday Dare Special Adviser to the President (Media & Public Communication) January 22, 2026

These are Draculas in government they don’t like the poor masses to enjoy good governance. He ruled Abia and he did nothing for the people only to steal from Abia’s coffer but this man came and brought development to the people. Campaigning against Otti shows how darkness in Nigeria has overshadowing light. Lucifers in human forms. Let me see how Abians will vote for darkiness.
