@ANI So, the powerful son of a BJP home minister calls a BJP party member (former MP) asking him to coach the Indian cricket team? News at that time said no one else applied. We understand now why no one applied. Indian players won on merit. He is still an arrogant hothead.
English

#WATCH | "We were playing an IPL game in Mumbai, KKR versus Mumbai Indians and it was Jay Bhai (ICC Chairman Jay Shah) who called me...At that time, I wasn't even ready...When I was offered this job, I had no experience as a head coach, because I've never been a head coach of any team or any franchise. I was always the mentor, but trusting me with that job, I think I have been able to live up to his expectations and I can't thank him enough...He was the only person who called me during the low moments in my tenure..." says Head Coach of Team India, Gautam Gambhir, in an interview with ANI

@crickohlic It’s Hardik! Next World Cup he’ll be dancing with someone else!
English

@viratmi24660335 @RitikSriva75 Away from T20 circuit? He will be 100% available for IPL starting next month. Staying away is his personal choice. No need to glorify it.
English

@RitikSriva75 By staying away from the T20 circuit, he is physically and mentally recharging for his ultimate goal: bringing home the 2027 ODI World Cup
English

Can anyone explain why Virat Kohli hasn't come to the stadium to watch a single match of the T20 World Cup? Why doesn't he even come to watch the matches of the same Indian team that made him the king of cricket? Other cricketers like Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, and MS Dhoni are often seen attending matches at the stadium, but why doesn't Virat Kohli come? He often travels from London to India, so what's the problem with him coming to watch matches?

English

@JhaSanjay They are submarines for a reason. Not airplanes traceable on a radar.
English

@RichKettle07 As per GG, Sachin’s 134 in Sharjah and Kanitakar’s 2 ball 6 were equal? Even Kanitkar wouldn’t dare to think like that.
India won’t win the WC under GG. He does not deserve it.

English

@rajkulkarni28 @RichKettle07 What GG conveniently chooses to ignore that Dhoni’s outstanding captaincy got India to the point where he hit that famous six. Six is famous because of Dhoni’s overall brilliance. Not because people were biased against GG.
English

@RichKettle07 So we should celebrate Dhoni 6 in final than gambhirs 97?
English

@RichKettle07 Just because he did not get celebrated enough for his 97, he has made it an agenda to force his virtues on everyone else. There is no comparison between Dube and Samson’s contribution. GG still has a job thanks to Samson. A super 8 exit would have put him on the chopping block.
English

@Pro_Man95 @thecricketgully You need to see the comparison outside of Afridi’s public demeanour. Abhishek’s technique is weak unlike that of his mentor.
English

@Pro_Man95 @thecricketgully I grew up watching every possible game of cricket irrespective of the team. When Afridi smashed the fastest 50 (17 balls) in his era, he was feared. Good hand-eye coordination is not a skill, it’s a gift of age. But there was never any technique.
English

@wealthmoose @JasminLaine_ Ever heard of “diversification of investments” and “hedging”? With funds the size of CPP, you don’t put all eggs in the same basket. If the USD tanks tomorrow (which the current administration is aspiring for), those S&P gains will return as nightmares.
English

@JasminLaine_ Short answer (calendar year 2025):
•🇮🇳 Nifty 50: ~+6% to +10% (approx., depending on price vs total return)
•🇨🇦 S&P/TSX Composite: ~+29% to +32%
👉 Winner in 2025: TSX by a wide margin.
English

@JasminLaine_ You make it sound like it has been donated, which is not the case.
What’s wrong with diversifying our investment of CPP funds? India is the fastest-growing large economy and a very promising investment destination.
English

@thecricketgully should be dropped for shaky nerves in the field and dropping sitters.
English

@Pro_Man95 @thecricketgully Playing high-intensity cricket from ball one is a sophisticated way of saying slogging. In cricket, you play according to the merit of the situation (pitch, bowlers, field, team goals). Afridi could bat a 250 SR in some games, but no quality opposition lets you get away with it.
English

@thecricketgully No way better drop sanju no question about abhishek even in this situation 😎 others can play with 180 strike rate but this guy can play with 300 strike rate
English

@rushiii_12 I don’t care about his press optics. He is high headed, arrogant, and plays politics with selection. Coaches are supposed to be calm. His traits are consistent with that of a a narcissist. He surrounds himself with supporters. India will not win the WC under him.
English

When the team loses, Gautam Gambhir never comes to the press conference, but when the team wins, he definitely shows up. Rahul Dravid was not like that he didn’t come when the team won, but he used to come to the press conference when the team lost.
When India lost to South Africa, they sent Ryan ten Doeschate to the press conference, and today when India won, coach Gautam Gambhir himself came to the press conference.🤦

English

@Krishnakum7381 @LoyalSachinFan How will he step up? He just comes in and blindly throws his bat. He is the easiest wicket to get for the opposition in the current Indian side. Exposed, stuck, pampered and stupid on a recurring basis.
English

@LoyalSachinFan NZ has a good chance to take on SA. India might struggle against Eng but will be a very close game. Archer knows to take on Sanju. Abhishek has to step up.
English

@LoyalSachinFan India might get past England but mediocre captaincy, arrogant coaching and flailing tactics can’t get them past South Africa. Stars are aligned for RSA’s 🇿🇦 first title. Only truly deserving team.
English

@trravisankar @KanojiaPJ While team waits for his flow to return, his nervous fielding is giving unprecedented flow to the opponent. He needs to be dropped solely because of his poor fielding.
English

@KanojiaPJ 15 to 20 minutes Abhishek bats in full flow he can change the game. He lives and dies by that. That's his role. leave him to find his flow. he will come handy when it matters in semi and finals. if he is dropped only person to replace should be shreyas.
English

Overhyped. Unreliable. And the worst part, poor fielding.
Bad batting can still be tolerated.
Bad bowling can still be tolerated.
But the worst fielder on the field is always a liability in T20 cricket.
Abhishek Sharma needs to be rested. Give Rinku Singh the opportunity, he can contribute with the bat and lift the fielding standards.
#T20WorldCup

English

@Nher_who this did not age well even for a few days. india as a team has strategic flaws with their incompetent captain, politician coach and a line up of sloggers. they don’t deserve to win the world cup. other teams in SF are more disciplined.
English

See how just few days ago, Suryakumar Yadav was laughing and mocking when reporter asked why Sanju Samson isn’t in the team. He said, “Should I replace him with Abhishek or Tilak?”
Today the same Sanju saved his sinking career while Abhisek dropped 2 catches and scored only 10
