Let’s be honest: the people having a full body emotional collapse after Mark Carney’s speech aren’t upset about what he said. They’re upset because it wasn’t delivered in crayon. When someone uses words longer than catch phrases like “Axe the Tax” and “Trudeau”, the internet’s least-curious minds immediately panic. Suddenly it’s “condescending” and “out of touch” which is just a polite way of them admitting: “I stopped listening after the third syllable.” Mark Carney didn’t talk down to Canadians. He just didn’t talk slowly enough for the ones melting down in the comments.
