I think Chelsea could've sealed the deal for Alonso a few days ago if they wanted. They just didn't want the players to be distracted before the FA Cup. Matt Law reported last night that they could reach an agreement after the final, win or lose. Some people always want to skew everything negatively. The agreement didn't leak because we lost a final; they reached an agreement early today before kick-off. It's normal that the briefs will fly immediately after the game. It's not that deep. It would've been the same outcome if we had won.
