Remembrance Day is one of our most cherished civic traditions in the UK. @jcartlidgemp and I, alongside 97 co-signatories, have written to the Prime Minister asking him to support local authorities to waive the cost of road closure fees and support organisations with the costs associated with managing road closures for Remembrance Day parades. No community should ever be without the opportunity to honour the service and sacrifice of our Armed Forces personnel, both past and present. Money should never be a barrier to this. 🚨Labour has just voted for the Family Farm and Family Business Taxes AGAIN. This is their 7th vote for these vindictive taxes. Labour neither knows nor cares about farming, the countryside and the rural economy.

I'm delighted that a number of Members of Parliament, including some cross-party MPs, have backed my Backdoors to Britain report looking at loopholes in our broken immigration system. The report looks at the issues, and how we can fix them, with 30 recommendations to Government. It followed months of research and questions put to Government Mininsters. I hope the Home Secretary will take the report seriously and make sure the immigration system works for the British people.

Plan 2 student loans are ripping off young people & punishing aspiration. It is demoralising for young people that as they work harder all they see is their debt climbing. This is not fair which is why in our New Deal for Young People we would make them RPI & RPI only, stop dead end degrees & boost apprenticeships for young people.

David Lammy told the press he opposed Mandelson’s appointment when he was made ambassador. The official record says otherwise.

Parents, teachers and children have been desperately let down by Labour MPs. They were the only party to vote against our plan to ban smartphones in schools and get children off social media. Guidance in schools is not working, and teachers want the backing of the law. Despite clear evidence that social media is exposing young people to extreme content - porn, violence, knives and sextortion - every day, the Government has failed to act. Labour backed an amendment that allows them to do nothing, or to implement weak half-measures such as curfews. This does not meet the scale of the challenge. The UK is lagging behind while other countries wake up to the harms.

Very disappointed that the CX will not give a date when the Defence Investment Plan will be published despite the government first promising it in June last year … it will lead many to have grave concerns about the commitment to investment in defence spending at a time of crisis.
