COINBASE ADDS CITREA $CTR TO LISTING ROADMAP Announced through the @CoinbaseMarkets account, leading exchange @Coinbase has added @citrea_xyz's native token to its official listing roadmap. However, no listing date or trading pairs have yet been confirmed. Citrea launched its mainnet back in January 2026, the project operating as an application layer for $BTC, aimed at greatly increasing access to Bitcoin-based opportunities for both retail and institutional participants.

Most governance tokens are a checkbox. Ship token, add voting, call it decentralized. CTR was designed around four mechanics that actually change how this works. First is xCTR, the staked form of CTR and the only token that carries voting power. Unlike timelocked staking where you freeze capital behind an arbitrary countdown, xCTR uses an exit fee. Unstaking has a 90-day unbonding window. You can access liquidity at any point, but you pay a fee that starts at 50% and decays to zero over time. The fees paid by early unstakers stay in the xCTR vault, increasing the CTR backing of every remaining staker's position. The mechanism naturally rewards long-term alignment. Second, dual treasury. Full DAO models are slow. Full foundation models are centralized. We split the difference. Foundation handles operations, R&D, and strategic initiatives. Governance Treasury, controlled by xCTR holders, handles emissions, council selection, and infrastructure decisions. Third, optimistic governance. The biggest problem in DAO governance is that nobody votes. Quorum-based models require active participation, good proposals die from apathy. CTR's governance is optimistic. Proposals pass by default unless xCTR holders veto. If it looks good, you do nothing. You only act when something is wrong. Same trust assumptions, radically better UX. Lastly, the gauge system. xCTR holders allocate emissions to specific pools and applications through on-chain voting each epoch. Voters who LP in the pool they vote for get multiplied emissions, improving capital efficiency across the network. Projects that want deep liquidity need xCTR votes, so they build CTR treasuries or incentivize holders to vote their way. Competition channeled into productive capital allocation.

Doodle time! @citrea_xyz has announced their network token so I've dived a bit and you know what? It's quite interesting. Ps: first tokenomics incentives user behaviours, not just pools or protocols. 🌀 Gauge - xCTR Design of xCTR is quite familiar for all the DEFi folks; it's a customized version of ve-token model. Such as CRV or Velo, Aero, Bera etc. However xCTR Gauge seems not only to incentives a specifci protocol or it's pools it seems holders can direct incentives to the specific behavioural patterns too. Custom build Gauge has functions to be fed offchain parties which allow Gauge to distrubute incentives for a specific type of users or protocols eg; NeoBank apps, or users who actively use privacy apps but also pay in CBTC. This is very unique, I haven't seen such a design tbh. Lmk if there was another. Holders will eat the bribes and incentives from the protocols they want their voting power + unstaking penalties. ⚒️Dual Treasury- Foundation and Governance. This is really a smart move cause DAOs are not effective to handle specific operations. Also the proposals takes days to months to pass and you need to share all the informations publicly while which kills negotiating power. If you go fully foundation runned model then insiders and close relatives eat it all, new commers can not join the governance or struggle to grow in the ecosystem What Citrea does is bascially having dedicated funds for both of the parties. Governance will be runned by xCTR holders and Foundation treasury will be runned by @citrea_fdn it seems. They have a specific distinguish between their responsibilities as well. While the governance arrange and distrubute incentives (in a very unique way) Foundation fund will be used for R&D, Grants, Ops etc. 🥧 Token Distrubution ~20% For investors, 1 + 3 vesting ~20% Contributors, 1+3 vesting ~23% Ecosystem ~25% Incentives ~12% Airdrop and initial claims So it seems 12% will be in circulation at launch, rest will be either locked + vested or under the governance & ecosystem treasury. ↔️ Listing Last week @coinbase added $CTR into their roadmap integration so it is confirmed. Token will be issued on Citrea and bridge to the @base. Network listings getting popular, started by @sunrisedefi's $MON lis on Solana, Mega etc it seems Base is also tapping into that area. Overall I think tokenomic is quite unique and exciting, hope to see more in time. ^^_
