As remodels have become more common, there's probably more bathroom diversity. But when we were kids, basically every shower was over a bathtub with one of these knobs.

@appsforartists I'm not sure what "common" is. I also stay in air bnbs and I don't think I have come across proper thermostatic mixing valves, except maybe once or twice. I really think those things are not super common.

There is a lot that Europe can learn from the US but we have the better showers. Or maybe it’s just US hotels but there are never any separate controls for flow and temperature.
