Introducing side chats, a new way to ask questions and explore ideas without interrupting your main conversation. Each side chat is a durable agent conversation you can @-mention to bring context back into the main thread.

@GJarrosson we talked about this in a class at berkeley. that research showed the odds of having a successful exit actually go up as you get closer to 40 and then keep going up, peaking in your 50s.

The age of the 40-year-old founder is back. Bryant Chou spent 12 years as CTO of Webflow, which now powers something like 1.5% of the entire internet. He's back in the current YC batch with Ploy, an AI marketing platform, and he describes himself as "a bit of a boomer, double the age of the YC founders." But over 13% of his batch is already using his product, within months of launch. There is a side of the argument which destroyed one of the main edges young founders have, which was being faster and cheaper at building.... speed is everyones game. If what's left is knowing what to build this is more likely to come from spending 15 years watching an industry up close, collecting the thousand small frustrations that tell you where the real problem is. Bryant can build an anti-slop website tool because he spent over a decade learning exactly why websites are slop. So I'm updating. I don't think it's young vs. old. I think AI rewards whoever has the most domain knowledge to point it at, and only sometimes is this younger founders who are thinking outside of the box...

The "should you read code" debate is dumb because the real decision isn't binary, it's a scale: 1. Reading every line of every diff 2. Scanning every diff, reviewing important lines 3. Ignoring diffs but understanding the 'why' of every PR 4. Spot checking PR's instead of reading every one 5. Ignoring PR's, but doing regular spot checks on the codebase 6. Ignoring the code, but spot checking agent traces to help improve the system 7. Ignoring both the code and the system, let models handle everything Where are you on the scale?

Awesome prompt by @trq212: „I want to make sure I understand everything that's happened in this change. Give me a HTML report on the changes for me to read and understand with context, intuition, what was done, etc. and a quiz at the bottom on the changes that I must pass.“

If you want to add a navigation trail to your own chat app, the new MessageScroller component has the hooks you need out of the box. Look for: const { currentAnchorId, visibleMessageIds } = useMessageScrollerVisibility()
OpenAI Developers@OpenAIDevs

Long Codex threads now have a navigation rail. Hover over the gutter to preview nearby turns, then click one to jump straight to that point instead of scrolling through the entire conversation.

REVEALED: All-new BMW X5! BMW just unveiled the fifth-generation X5, and the spec sheet is absolute madness! For the first time ever, it supports FIVE separate powertrains: Petrol, Diesel, PHEV, Electric (iX5), and Hydrogen 🤯🏎️ 🔋 iX5 EV: 578hp, 450kW+ charging, & 500-mile range! 🐎 M60e PHEV: 612hp & 0-100 km/h in 4.5 secs! 🚪 "Winglet" door handles like a Purosangue! 🖥️ Windscreen-wide "Panoramic Vision" display! ❎ LED headlights with double X light icons! It even introduces a "Symbiotic Drive" system allowing hands-free motorway cruising, complete with automatic lane changes triggered simply by looking at your side mirror! The mild-hybrids drop this November, with the full EVs and PHEVs due in early 2027. Would you park this on your driveway over the all-new Audi Q7? 👀

@tanmay_jain_ @mntruell I had the exact same thoughts. But I guess it will soon rank better after downloads and reviews increase.

I love Cursor, but here’s a reminder to put some spend on branded search every time you do an app launch! They aren’t within first 10 results, even Grok is ranking better…

Good new first: Sol is a smart, efficient, and a significant step forward. It is the same price as GPT-5.5. Also launching in the GPT-5.6 family is Terra, with 5.5-level performance at half the price. Bad news: at the request of the US government, it is launching today in limited preview instead of the open access launch we were planning on. We are working with the government to get to general availability as fast as we can. I think it is quite reasonable to roll out models--especially as they reach significant new levels of capability--in this way. It fits with our long-held strategy of iterative deployment. But this isn't quite the process that we think is optimal. Now we will with the government to attempt to get to a transparent, reliable process for early access, and to ensure that as long as our safeguards work as intended we can release widely. We want to be a reliable, dependable partner that works with all stakeholders, and we also want to live by our mission of benefiting all of humanity. I believe the government shares most of our goals, and that they are overall doing a good job in a very difficult situation. We will work as quickly as we can to get this model in your hands and we hope you will love it.
