Aber dass ein Schiedsrichter in einem Champions League-Viertelfinale nicht weiß, dass ein Spieler schon gelb hatte, ihm dann eigentlich gelb geben will, dann aber dadurch gezwungen ist, gelbrot zu geben, ist unfassbar. A comment / our thoughts on the state of HW3 and a Full Self-Driving (Unsupervised) future, from a HW3 owner.
We are quoting this as @SawyerMerritt has highlighted that the #1 investor question right now pertains to HW3.

As a HW3 Model 3 owner (and one of the first to get a retrofit from HW2.5), I don’t think it’s per se an issue with the answer we’ve received from Tesla, and more so the timeline. Everyone has their own tolerances for waiting; while I don’t mind waiting years, others feel differently. Many will lose their vehicle or sell it (whether to upgrade to another Tesla or not) before seeing Unsupervised come to fruition. So I think that rephrasing the question to request a formal timeline and commitment, rather than guestimations, would appease the largest group of HW3 owners. “You will receive Unsupervised after we solve it on AI4” has already been given (and is a solid answer). Still, without tangible commitments, it leaves owners (and retail investors) with more questions. If a software only solution is on the table, more confidence is necessary. If a form of retrofit is required, try to set a firm limit on anticipation. I believe we all mutually feel this way. ❤️

As mentioned in our comment/reply, we don’t mind the wait. We use FSD V12.6.4 daily, and have many completely end-to-end drives without disengagements.
Our experience has been favorable; that is not the case for all. Voices matter, and we’ll be happy when this chapter closes.

I think they will make it happen, but I always assume everything will be a little late when it comes to self-driving software updates.
Unlike other kinds of software, if it’s not ready you can’t really release it.

Finally. After 18 months of patience, FSD is officially approved and live in the Netherlands. I’ve been driving with it for 2 days now. And the experience is on another level. It feels like the future unfolding in real time. The precision. The intelligence. The confidence of the system. This is not incremental progress. This is a clear step forward in how mobility works. Huge thanks to Elon Musk and the entire AI team at Tesla. From a professional perspective, this shows what is possible when software, data, and real-world deployment come together at scale. In den Niederlanden kann man jetzt für 99€ im Monat FSD mieten.
Wer will kaufe und wer das Abo nehmen? Ich werde es vielleicht ein oder zwei mal im jahr nehmen zum spielen. Aber brauchen tue ich es nicht.
Ich schätze mal, HW3 Fahrzeuge gehen leer aus. Aber das werden wir die nächsten Tage/ Wochen erfahren.
