Before I ever felt God‘s hand on my shoulder, I felt a similar peace on a mountain top. Matt and I fell in love on a hike. Our first date was a hike, he proposed on a hike, we hike with our kids. We pulled ourselves out of hardships and health scares on mountain tops. But, at the time of these photos, I didn’t have a Church or even even consider myself a Christian. My only connection to God was through nature. My epiphany this morning is that every moment of peace experienced, every hardship and every success, was Christ helping me find my way back to him. He was so patient. It is overwhelming sometimes, to think about how many times he saw me fail. I don’t know how to explain it other than one day, I felt his presence in a very real way and since that day he hasn’t left my side. I was singing in church and felt his hand on my shoulder. I started crying and just let it happen. I was in so much pain and so overwhelmed with fear and loneliness. And at that moment, he was there. I can’t even type these words without crying. That was a year ago. It felt like magic. This morning, I am so full of gratitude to be a Christian with an incredible church, family, and the natural world all given to me (and you) by God. My prayer is that all of you have felt this or feel this one day too. God isn’t attached to any ideology or political party. He is there for every single person on this earth, and your life will be irrevocably changed for the better when you let him in.

Anxious striving has a particular rhythm — fast, fragmented, exhausting. We rush ahead, second-guess, double back, and somehow end the day more depleted than when we began. There has to be another way. There is. When we stop demanding our own timeline and start trusting God's, something shifts. We don't move slower exactly — we move with Him. Our steps fall in sync with a wisdom larger than our own, and the journey transforms from a frantic sprint into a purposeful walk. Peace isn't found in arriving. It's found in walking with the One who knows the way. Where do you need to slow down and step in time with Him today?

If someone asked you today why you live differently — what would you say? There's a reason you don't fall apart the way everyone else does. A reason you can show up with peace in the middle of chaos. Forgiveness when you've been wronged. Hope when the situation says there's nothing to hope for. That's not personality. That's not positivity. That's Jesus. And the people in your life — at work, home, in your everyday, they're noticing something they can't quite explain. One day they're going to ask you about it. Be ready to tell them why.

Brad Pitt got really honest about hitting rock bottom and finding AA. He was “pretty much on my back,” desperate, trying anything. What surprised him most was how open and contagious the rooms were, it gave him permission to step out on the edge. He went from shy to fully embracing it, calling it something he actually looked forward to. Dax nailed it: “You don’t come into AA because everything’s working out fantastic.” Seeing someone that successful talk so openly about struggle and growth makes it feel more human and less shameful. Recovery isn’t about perfection, it’s about showing up when your hair is on fire and being willing to change. Have you ever found unexpected strength in a room full of people who’ve been through it?

I’m writing again. And so happy to be! 2 projects, one shorter non-fiction work and the other a novel. The fiction work will take longer because I have to do it on the side. I share this with you in order to give you my word about something. Now only the Lord knows if these works will come to fruition and get published. But I want to make you a promise you are welcome to hold me to. Even if the end result is mediocre and the work would have been better if I did, I will never use AI to do any writing I put my name on nor have I ever used or will I use a ghost writer. I want to say that plainly especially as I get older. I respect my readers and Bible study participants. These aren’t groupies and book buyers don’t just represent numbers to me. I have a lot of flaws but God has treated me so mercifully that I want to serve people well. Please don’t hear this in an arrogant tone because nothing is further from my mind. I’m not one bit better than those who have done or will do any of these things. And goodness knows I’ve committed more grievous sins in my lifetime. But this writing part of my life has been such unmerited grace that I’ve tried to treat it with care. Anyway, I wanted to get that off my chest. If I put it out there, it’s mine. Even if you give it a D. :)

Glory to God ✝️

I had a farm‑road fatality today. I was driving along when two grackles flew right in front of my car, barely two feet off the ground. One made it by the skin of its teeth, but the other disappeared into my grill. I looked in the rearview mirror and saw a single black feather drifting in the air. Later, I was talking to someone in their driveway and mentioned what happened. That's when the kind older Amish gentleman gently removed the bird from my grill and placed it in his field. I felt terrible — mostly for the bird he had been flying with when he suddenly disappeared. Maybe I’m a weirdo for feeling so bad, but I even prayed for the other bird. I researched grackles to see if they mate for life. They don’t. They “play the field,” so to speak, so they’re okay on their own. Still, this bird was beautiful. His blue and purple feathers shimmered like a gemstone. Boy oh boy, our God is so magnificent. He has placed so much life and beauty into all of creation, each in its own unique way. Luke 12:6 “Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God.” “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it.” — Psalm 24:1 Job 12:10 “In His hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind.” Praise God. Even in something as small as a grackle’s feathers, His craftsmanship shines. And even in moments that feel sad or accidental, His care covers every living thing. —I am sorry. It’s been a long day. Good night and God bless everyone. Much love, Sister Christine ❤️

For the football fans, let me explain it this way. When the offense breaks the huddle, every player knows the play because they stayed close enough to hear the quarterback’s voice. But if one player isn’t in the huddle, he misses the direction completely. That’s what happens when we drift out of fellowship with God. Sin doesn’t just affect behavior, it disrupts intimacy. It dulls our sensitivity to His voice and pulls us away from the closeness that keeps us spiritually alert and prepared. So much of being ready for Christ’s return comes back to this: abiding. Staying near. Remaining in fellowship with Him daily. Not obsessing over dates and timelines, but living in ongoing relationship with the One who is coming. Don’t get out of the huddle. We all face giants, and we will continue to face them as long as we live. We have an enemy in Satan who will stop at nothing to disrupt our relationship with Christ. So, we all need to embrace these words from the apostle Paul: “If you think you are standing strong, be careful not to fall. The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure” (1 Corinthians 10:12–13 NLT). If you trust in Christ, you need to remind yourself as often as necessary that every giant can be defeated. There is nothing in this world that can place you under its power. There is no addiction that needs to control your life. There is no lifestyle that you cannot break free from. There is no temptation that’s too compelling to resist. There is no giant that’s too big or too powerful for you. You have everything you need in your relationship with Christ. There is no power in your life that Christ in you can’t overcome!

Man, there is nothing better as a mom than hearing your daughter blow drying her hair while singing, "Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it, prone to leave the God I love. Here's my heart, take and seal it, seal it for thy courts above..." 😭🥹

When we experience shame, we feel disconnected and desperate for worthiness. Full of shame or the fear of shame, we are more likely to engage in self-destructive behaviors and attack or shame others. Indeed, shame is related to depression, addiction, eating disorders and bullying
