Thomas Jefferson had some words about your boy’s attack on the first amendment @realDonaldTrump There is zero federal power to punish any kind of speech. Ever. “libels, falsehoods, and defamation, equally with heresy and false religion, are withheld from the cognizance of federal tribunals.” As usual, he based it not just on the first amendment, but the 10th amendment “Resolved, that it is true as a general principle, and is also expressly declared by one of the amendments to the Constitution that “the powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively or to the people;” and that no power over the freedom of religion, freedom of speech, or freedom of the press being delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, all lawful powers respecting the same did of right remain, and were reserved to the states, or to the people: That thus was manifested their determination to retain to themselves the right of judging how far the licentiousness of speech and of the press may be abridged without lessening their useful freedom, and how far those abuses which cannot be separated from their use, should be tolerated rather than the use be destroyed”
Ken Klippenstein@kenklippenstein

White House counterterrorism czar Sebastian Gorka says there must be limits to freedom of speech, like "incitement" (as defined by the government). "There are things within our laws that you are not allowed to say, right?"

🚨WOW: Delaware's plaintiff lawyers are trying to drag Musk back into the Chancery Court. A judge already dismissed the case, citing Tesla's bylaw requiring disputes be heard in Texas. Delaware plaintiff lawyers are appealing anyway. This is the litigation environment companies often point to when they file to leave Delaware.

What’s remarkable is how openly politicians take credit for “giving” people things they first took the money to fund, while ignoring the waste, overhead, corruption, inflation, and reduced competition their intervention creates. They present themselves as benefactors for returning a fraction of what was extracted, then leave out the unseen costs: higher taxes, higher prices, fewer choices, slower innovation, and dependency on the same political class that caused the inefficiency. A private business has to persuade you voluntarily. Politicians can distort reality, spend other people’s money, and still compel payment regardless of performance.

🚨 NEW: Zohran Mamdani to permanently fund NYC libraries and parks. Libraries will no longer have to plead for funding each year.

It’s sad that a week before this election people are making false and unsubstantiated allegations about me in an obvious attempt to influence the outcome of this election. All of the claims of inappropriate conduct are false. I’ve never offered anyone money in exchange for their silence. I report all of my farm income, including cash, to the IRS. There are no ethics claims filed against me, nor have there ever been any claims filed against me in my 14 years in office. I have consulted legal counsel and we are considering all options.

Great article. Public-sector unions are one of the worst scourges on the body politic in America. Profoundly anti-democratic, they run a sort of legalized graft as follows: 1. Public employees get paid via taxpayer dollars. 2. But a portion of those dollars are skimmed off as union dues. 3. The union dues are then contributed to Democrat politicians. 4. Democrat politicians then make sure there are more public sector union jobs with more benefits and better pay than anything in the private sector. 5. Wash, rinse, repeat. Basically, taxpayers are paying for their own demise. ***Legalized graft***

Red states and Washington are finally pushing back on public-sector unions—curbing their political power, taxpayer-funded perks, and one-party dominance. amgreatness.com/2026/05/12/mou…

Woah! This is blasphemy. Milton Friedman is correct about the following: 1. He proved that the Great Depression was due to Fed contracting money supply. Ben Bernanke conceded this on Friedman's 90th birthday! 2. He was the first (and correct) to critique the Phillips curve relationship between inflation and unemployment. Past governments had tried to exploit the relationship. But he demonstrated that doing so simply shifts expectations. 3. He was instrumental in arguing against the Bretton-Woods regime. He (correctly) predicted that the flexible exchange rate world (that we're living in now) is much more stable. 4. The EITC is simply an implementation of the negative income tax he proposed as a replacement to bureaucratic welfare. 5. He was also correct about corporate tax being a regressive tax. Decades later, virtually no economists disagree. I could go on and on and on. Milton Friedman was one of the greatest geniuses. Saying he wasn't right says more about your understanding of economics than his.

@rohitshinde121 Economics is not a natural science and Milton Friedman hasn’t been correct about anything meaningful to policy or the actual world

“Tax the rich” offends people because most people understand that success is not a crime and envy is not a moral principle. The slogan itself admits the mindset: not “create wealth,” not “expand opportunity,” but politically target a minority for having more. Then if you object, you’re called selfish for not wanting legalized theft normalized. It’s the morality of entitlement disguised as compassion.
