They didn't shoot well at all (5/22 3FG at one point) but they won with DEFENSE.
Forced 20 turnovers by halftime.

I’m a physician that practices solely in hair restoration surgery (👨🏼🦲—>👨🏼🦰). I did a one-year fellowship exclusively learning how to surgically treat hair loss.
My story doesn’t start there though. I am a board-certified internal medicine physician but was burnt out. I didn’t see a career path where I had control amongst dwindling reimbursements and increasing patient volumes. I thought, should I just go to business school, change careers and do consulting, or literally anything but medicine.
One day, my wife introduced me to her field of practice: hair restoration surgery.
She’s a board certified dermatologist and also fellowship trained hair restoration surgeon. (Yes, she’s way smarter than me, but I tricked her into marrying me which makes me pretty smart too 😆.)
Anyway, she intro’d me to the field and I fell in love with it. It truly offered me a way to practice medicine, artistry (hairlines are artwork), and business all rolled into one.
Instead of joining one of the big names clinics after fellowship, we decided to jump feet first into creating our own brand - Root Hair Institute in Greater Seattle.
I’m using this platform to share the ups, downs and overall journey of our start up learnings, how far we’ve come and where we plan to go with this.
Hoping to inspire some other physicians and non-physicians to take the less-beaten path and embark on their own journey of taking back control.
PS. I don’t plan to work forever so I’m working on building a real estate portfolio with my brothers which will allow me to practice medicine as a hobby rather than financial gain.
