We just tagged a new release to make it easier to work with presets. We've also added monorepo support for shadcn apply.

@shadcn What about styles? What’s the best way of customizing it? For example I do like Luma a lot but I wanted to tune the spacing of it just a bit

You can now selectively apply a preset. Say someone shares a preset with you and you already have your own components, but you like the theme or the fonts. Now you can apply just that. Keep your components. Applies only what you want.

@shadcn What about tuning/creating your own styles? For example base/nova gives me a very close default for what I need but I would like to tune some stuff in there such as spacings, etc

This is now in the latest beta. You can generate a preset from your existing project and open it on shadcn/create. Pretty useful if you want to share the preset. Or even better, try new colors, fonts or swap icon libraries for an existing project. Then run shadcn apply to update your local code.
