FIIO 2026 New Product Schedule-By FIIO James-Part 12 GIGAS Series High-Power Output Headphone Amplifiers FIIO will continue to develop a series of products to meet specific needs. Today, I'd like to introduce the GIGAS series, which is a highly targeted product line. The GIGAS series includes three products: portable headphone amplifier, desktop headphone amplifier, and USB dongle DAC amplifier for mobile. They share the common characteristics of high-power output and high cost-effectiveness. The development background is that our JT7 over-ear planar magnetic headphones received almost unanimous praise from users after their release. The only slight drawback is that the JT7 has relatively low sensitivity, so to drive it well, it requires a certain level of power from the front-end. However, the current market's front-ends (players, portable headphone amps, USB dongles) with high power output are expensive. So, users often ask me if there are any recommendations for front-ends with sufficient power and affordable prices, but I don't have suitable models to recommend. To address this user pain point, we specifically developed three products for FIIO and other brands' entry-level planar magnetic headphones: GIGAS 1, GIGAS 2, and GIGAS 3. GIGAS originates from Greek and means "giant." True to its name, GIGAS perfectly describes these three products. Let me introduce the features and release dates of these three products. 💕GIGAS 1 Desktop Headphone Amplifier GIGAS 1 is a compact, high-power output headphone amplifier designed specifically for desktop use. Its functions are minimalist, primarily focusing on volume and gain adjustment. It is USB powered and features an all-metal casing. You can connect it directly to a computer's LINE OUT, or pair it with our upcoming separate TYPE-C to 3.5 LINE OUT decoding cable. The output supports both 3.5mm and 4.4mm physical interfaces (the internal amplification is not a 4-channel balanced independent amp; the 4.4mm is just for convenience). GIGAS 1 is planned for release in July. 💕GIGAS 2 Portable Headphone Amplifier GIGAS 2 is a high-power output headphone amplifier designed specifically for portable/mobile use. It features a minimalist design with only volume and gain adjustments. It comes with a single, replaceable, and high-capacity lithium battery. GIGAS 2 also lacks decoding functionality, so users can pair it with front-ends that have LO (most FIIO players do). Alternatively, you can connect it to a mobile phone or other source devices without analog output using our separately designed decoding cable. Furthermore, since it has a built-in replaceable standard 21700mAh lithium battery, we have also designed an external power supply function, allowing it to be used as an emergency power bank. GIGAS 2 is planned for release around July. 💕GIGAS 3 High-Power Output USB Dongle GIGAS 3 is designed specifically for phone users and has no display screen. Because planar magnetic headphones have low sensitivity, precise volume adjustment is no longer necessary. So, there's no independent volume adjustment button. GIGAS 3 is also planned for release around July. In summary, the strengths and weaknesses of these three products are obvious. For specific users, they meet their core needs while reducing purchase costs. Moreover, they are all very easy to use. For FIIO, this is also a bold attempt. If it succeeds, we will see more similar product series in the future, no longer categorized by product form but by scenario. GIGAS 2 is shown as the accompanying image. With FIIO’s proprietary tuning algorithm, accessible through their app or web interface, you can easily utilize preset tunings like “Retro PEQ,” or even simulate and correct headphone frequency response curves to DIY the tuning style. FIIO 2025 New Product Schedule (4) Desktop Music Player FIIO's desktop player lineup began with the R7 and has since branched into two independent product lines: the R series for desktop setups and the S series for traditional living room environments. In 2025, FIIO's desktop players will continue to focus on the Android platform to align with the ongoing shift toward streaming music services. I. Desktop Series We are considering developing an updated model of the R7. The primary upgrades will include switching to the latest Qualcomm chipset and upgrading the DAC chip. This will be a minor revision, and the DAC may be replaced with FIIO's self-developed R2R DAC, which has been well-received by users. Other design elements of the R7 will remain largely unchanged. II. Living Room Series The S15 will continue regular production and sales. However, considering that the S15 is priced relatively high, we are planning to introduce a more affordable S13, aimed at users with a lower budget. You can take the S13 as a simplified version of the S15. For users who already own a desktop DAC and do not require the built-in DAC of the S15, the S13 could serve as a dedicated digital audio source, making for a great system pairing. We are still researching and testing the desktop player market. For one thing, we need to assess market trends and potential demand. For another, the optimal form factor for digital audio streamers is still evolving. For example, should the device prioritize horizontal or vertical screen orientation, how can we further improve the user experience and controls, and is it better as a pure digital turntable, or should it include a built-in DAC? These all require continuous exploration. That said, I firmly believe that desktop audio systems have significant growth potential. However, FIIO's brand recognition and sales channels are still primarily focused on the HiFi headphone market. Many traditional desktop HiFi audiophiles are not yet familiar with FIIO, and gaining their trust will take time. Attached is a possible design concept for the S13.
