7 days in Karachi, 6 days spent at HBL trying to get my account reopened. Ammi has been trying to get a debit card for three months, which requires changing a phone number which is still mysteriously in process. What a fucking nightmare. What a shit show.

An average adult rat requires 20 grams food daily. It will take 10 million rats devouring this wheat daily for 4 years to finish 0.3 million tons of wheat.
That's a lot of rats, or it simply got stolen.

@rogueonomist Allah maaf karay. I had a horrid experience. Haven’t been able to use my a/c and IB as can’t get them to deliver my atm card to a registered address because it’s not THEIR preferred address. And to change the address was next level complicated stuff.Ended up closing a/c.

Why aren't we seeing any such Fintechs coming up? Absolutely no idea. Banks are lazy and couldn't care less, but this is one area which is ripe for disruption, and where tech can help. There is more to Fintech than high cost payday loans and BNPL shenanigans

Invoice discounting. Something which the fintech space (and legacy obviously) has been ignoring. Every SME has a liquidity issue, they have receivables outstanding, and it takes anywhere from 60 to 120 days (or more) to get paid. The bigger the counterparty, the worse it gets

The worst part is that there is absolutely no regulator who cares. The securities regulator magically disappears despite most schemes indulging in securities (read: files) trading. No real estate regulator, so no one really cares. Its like the State wants these scams to continue

For the people falling into real estate scams time and again, and never learning. DHA, Bahria Town, ARY Laguna, shady real estate agents, and the list goes on. Real estate returns should be adjusted for survivorship bias, adjusted returns may be even lower than risk-free rate
