Excited to announce that I’ve joined FirstMark! I’ll be investing in all things consumer, alongside @rick and @kathrynweinmann. Can’t wait to work with from phenomenal investors who’ve backed names like Pinterest, Airbnb, Discord, Riot Games, DraftKings, Ro, and many more. If you’re building, let’s chat.
FirstMark@FirstMarkCap

We're thrilled to welcome @arjundundoo to FirstMark as our newest Investor focused on the consumer tech landscape! Prior to joining us, Arjun was at Bird (NYSE: BRDS), where he helped lead M&A and capital markets. FirstMark has a long history in consumer (Pinterest, Airbnb, DraftKings, Ro, Function Health, Discord, etc.), so we couldn't be more excited to have Arjun joining the team, as we double down on backing and supporting the next generation of iconic consumer businesses. Please join us in giving him a warm welcome 🚀

Just had a dining experience like no other at Bungalow My fam and I walked in and despite having no availability nor having any idea who we are, @TheVikasKhanna saw my sweet grandmother and said “I can’t let her leave without eating” - he found us a table and treated her like a queen (which she is!), she was floored Literally a level of hospitality l didn’t know existed.. new favorite restaurant

So many people do not understand this - and it is core to consumer software👇 Gen Z and beyond does not care about data privacy as long as a product delivers for them Bank accounts, contact book, email access, camera roll, etc. - they will gladly give it up
spor@sporadica

Maybe it’s the Gen-Z in me, but i fully don’t care about privacy. I am post-privacy. I am giving OpenAI access to all of my finances, all of my health data, everything, I don’t care anymore

At USC graduation this year, students’ names were read out by AI. Students had to submit their full names’ pronunciations in advance. In fact, a student figured out it was AI because there were none of the usual pronunciations issues with student names that plague every graduation :)

Some news I've been meaning to share for a while now... I'm excited to share that Argos Research has raised a $1.6m pre-seed round led by @paigecraig and @outlandervc I'd like to also take the chance to thank our angel investors Charlie Yuan, Matthew Eggertson, Raymond Russell, Alexander Jabbour, and especially Charlie Songhurst who was the absolute first to believe in us. This also wouldn't have been possible without my cofounder @alsibassi, my family, friends, and mentors who've guided me throughout. I've been lucky in that there's too many of you to tag here, so please forgive me - I am grateful you all put up with my long hours, grand vision, and obsession with the future. One thing has become clear. The distribution and impact of AI has not been equal. While we've watched the digital world get flipped outside down by the ongoing LLM revolution - the physical world has been left behind. While our hardware has gotten exponentially better, we still have yet to enter the world with robots doing our laundry, cars that drive us to work, or even roombas that can properly clean an entire home. This is for one reason - the physical world (and indeed, most complex systems) cannot be 'brute forced'. There is no throwing obscene amounts of data at an architecture and hoping it generalizes meaningfully, nor strapping go-pros to peoples heads and hoping that a robot learns to mimic humans correctly. There's only one way that we enter the sci-fi future, and that's by giving machines the ability to think, and more importantly, learn, as they go. Argos is solving this by building the first neural network architecture capable of true continual learning for the real, chaotic, and messy world. If this resonates with you, we'd love to chat.

@dunkhippo33 Distro is crucial cause yes anyone can build, but ofc product still matters Just cause it’s easier to build doesn’t mean that exceptional founders can’t find ways to make their product incrementally better than the competition and create some sort of moat there
