@chrisadonnelly @bbctheview Yes, saw all those far far far right loyalist bigots on the news there waving their Irish Tricolours in a stand off with the Garda. It's refreshing to know the Irish aren't racist, isn't that right Chris. I'm sure you have never even said Brits out.

Jonathan Buckley floundering on @bbctheview Perhaps he should address the relationship between racist violence being almost exclusively a feature in loyalist areas & alarmist rhetoric re ‘alien culture/mass immigration’ being exclusively the language of unionism in this state.

@StephenNolan Imbalanced reporting does not help. When you focus on the protesters only because in your view it's news, you leave out detail. This was an Irish Republican parade forced through Scarva calling for the eradication of the Jewish people. It was not benign. Why not mention that.

Controversy over the handling of a march and counter protest in Scarva. Dozens of police officers, some in riot gear, and water cannon were deployed as part of the policing operation in the Co Down village where several hundred people joined a protest against a Palestine solidarity walk on Saturday. The DUP branded the police operation ‘heavy handed’ and said many of those on the ground felt it did nothing to reduce tension. Others have criticised the DUP MP Carla Lockhart after she was pictured standing near masked men. We hear from DUP MLA Jonathan Buckley who was also on the ground in Scarva, from Alliance Party MP Sorcha Eastwood, local resident Wesley who took part in the protest and Catherine – one of the organisers from the Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign. Listen to the full discussion on BBC Sounds.

No British Government ever has or ever will serve the interests of people here, in Scotland or Wales. More and more people are looking to the potential alternative and the hope for better - for us in the north of Ireland we have a democratic path to ending the Union with Britain and the opportunity to create a brighter future for all the people who call this island home. It is time now for proper planning and preparation for a unity referendum 🙌🏻

So, the unaccountable Parades Commission quangocrats force an antisemitic from the river to the sea hate march through Scarva village and not one of them can stand up and explain why, putting the PSNI and local community in harms way. What absolute cowards.

Henry Nowak was kind, thoughtful and much-loved. His life was stolen from him, leaving his family and loved ones devastated. The bodycam footage is harrowing. It’s absolutely right that the IOPC is looking at this. There are serious questions for the police to answer.

It is incomprehensible that anybody believes our national team should line out against the terror state of Israel while a genocide is ongoing. It’s time to show Israel the red card - It’s time to stop the game – it's as simple as that.

From Irish unity to Labour’s struggles in government, this episode covers some of the biggest political questions we face. Colum tells us how nationalism needs a “commonality” on unity and says he’d “embrace working with Sinn Féin” to achieve it. “I'm not really worried about who I have to work with. In fact, I'd embrace working with Sinn Féin and other parties to get it done". #Stormont #Ukpolitics #SinnFéin @dmcbfs @timcairns

@CathCallaghanTD Was your ROI neutral when it supplied the IRA with arms and explosives as long as it murdered people in Northern Ireland and not in the ROI. Your state still withholds information and have given them a de facto amnesty. But yeah, the ROI is neutral.

As the only person in the 34th Dáil who has served in Óglaigh na hÉireann I welcome a conversation on neutrality and the separate matter of reform of the Triple Lock. Neutrality and the triple lock are not the same thing. Ireland has been neutral for more than 80 years - long before the Triple Lock was created. Ireland will be neutral after the triple lock is amended. #triplelock #neutrality

I am deeply appalled by the conduct and rhetoric of Israeli Cabinet minister Itamar Ben-Gvir in relation to the Global Sumud Flotilla. Scotland stands with the people of Gaza. We need to see more humanitarian aid coming in, and every effort must be made to secure lasting peace.

@HMcEntee Military neutrality? The Irish Government wasn't neutral when arming the IRA providing guns, explosives and safe haven. It's delusional to think the Republic of Ireland was ever neutral.

@HMcEntee The antisemitic Irish go to Israel to tell Jews how to run their own country and are then surprised that the Jews don't play games. Absolute idiots. The Israelis should throw them in jail.

@MichealMartinTD Was the Irish Government in breach of International law when it supported the IRA's cross border attacks against innocent Protestant families such as those in Kingsmills. When will you be tweeting an apology for that.

For fifty-two years, families who lost loved ones and survivors of the Dublin and Monaghan Bombings have courageously campaigned for truth and justice. Today, we send them love, support and solidarity. The government must intensify efforts to ensure British State agencies release all information and documents in relation to the bombings. These heartbroken families have been stonewalled for more than five decades. They deserve answers. They will never give up and we will stand with them as they continue their brave fight.

Such a depressing lack of vision for Northern Ireland. Across Europe and the world, they preserve places of difficult history to tell their story of conflict, peace, reconciliation and hope for a better future. Here, too many that offer no hope or vision, default to “bulldoze it” instead of having the confidence or ambition to build something positive for the future! #HopeNotFear #sharedfuture #MLK belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/northern-…
