Just read about Suneung - the South Korean SAT which decides the college a kid will attend. And my goooodddd, it's crazy! - 9 hour exam (wtf??) - 500K+ testers every year But the crazy part begins here... - Entire nation goes into a soft lockdown on day of exam - Offices open late, stock market opens late, so that roads are clear for student to reach exam centre on time - If any student is running late, police will pick you up, blast a siren and get them there on time - Traffic around test centres is blocked. No honking allowed - All construction work is stopped on that day And the craziest part.... - There is a 20-30 minute audio portion in the exam. No planes are allowed to take-off or land during that time to avoid noise

We can plant trees. We can’t plant ecosystems. China’s massive regreening effort reduced erosion, but also altered rainfall and water availability across much of the country. Replacing natural hydrologic regimes with engineered ones has consequences.

1. my professor asked me to write about jakarta most of the time because he knew so little about the city 2. i cant find things about jakarta in BARTLETT LIBRARY 3. my international study of transport and city planning professor thought we still use becak and bajaj up until today

Is it possible to create strong citizen demand for stronger climate policies? Join the Indonesia Update, where Paramita Mohamad @C4C_ID will share her research and survey and help us understand if the narratives can help build citizen demand for real climate action.

BRO FOR REAL. My client is a Singaporean, from a top uni. I work like crazy and their expectation still remains impossible. But here’s what stuck in my mind, Indonesians’ brain development is way too far from theirs. It makes sense, they have incredible government and support.
