This is a twisted and biased review of the history that elides more than it illuminates. It's also irrelevant to what's happening today. Trying draw a parallel between the Kingdom of David/Judea and modern Israel is nonsensical. You would have to dissolve the US on these grounds. If you say there were no Palestinians before 1948, you have to acknowledge that there were no Israelis either. They ancient ones were Israelites, Judeans. The whole thing came into being in 1948. If you want to start talking about genes, we'll have to give it all back to the Neanderthals.

No one has a problem with the idea of a Jewish homeland. I think most people even support it. The problem is when you build it on top of someone else's land. Israel was founded by Europeans. It should have been created in Europe using land from countries who persecuted Jews.

@HenMazzig It definitely happened so ignore those who say it was the passengers looking for trouble. Latest on various channels say it’s probably the suppliers not airline staff. Those saying there’s nothing wrong with this also need to think - though am not hopeful they are able to.

Jewish passengers on an Iberia flight from Argentina to Spain were served kosher meals labeled with the words “Free Palestine.” Writing “Free Palestine” on a kosher food tray does nothing to help Palestinians, but it sure does intimidate Jewish passengers trapped on your plane for hours. Oh, and by the way, Iberia is part of the same airline group as Vueling, the company accused of kicking an entire group of Jewish children off a flight.

Even if you are a Zionist, how do you explain that a group of Eastern Europeans have a right to the land, but Palestinians, who are the closest living descendants to ancient Israelites, Hebrews, and Canaanites do not?

@basilthegreat It definitely should not been a key concern but division of society should be. Islamist beliefs are problematical, and the only way to address that and other forms of extremism is to have parliamentarians of all colours, religions and cultures as part of the conversation.
