#schools in #Balochistan go on a prolonged Winter break from December till March. This factor when clubbed with the the pandemic is likely to end the educational journey of hundreds of thousands of Baloch children this year. #ListenToSumera

"There is a lack of understanding among communities about the importance of #education most parents saw the pandemic as an opportunity to engage girls in household chores. These girls are highly unlikely to return to schools to continue their education.” #ListenToSumera @PYCAPk

Have you heard Sumera Mehboob share how #COVID19 has impacted the educational journey of children in Balochistan? If you still haven’t, please #ListenToSumera and pass on her message because we all need the reality check she has to give.

It is all the more important to #ListenToSumera because in Balochistan, for every 100 girls enrolled at the primary level 36 are out-of-school and for every 100 girls enrolled at the secondary level 666 are out-of-school!

A study after the #EarthQuake2005 revealed a gap of 1.5-2 years of learning losses among children where students were out of school for about 14 weeks. Now imagine the loss of learning for the children in #Balochistan who've not been to schools for 40 weeks! #ListenToSumera
