MCP sucks honestly It eats too much context window and you have to toggle it on and off and the auth sucks I got sick of Claude in Chrome via MCP and vibe coded a CLI wrapper for Playwright tonight in 30 minutes only for my team to tell me Vercel already did it lmao But it worked 100x better and was like 100LOC as a CLI

Here’s the transition

It’s this obsession with detail that drew me to work on iPhone. For me, it was the transition in Maps into Street View way back in iPhoneOS 2. At the time it was a remarkable transition into a remarkable feature. I had to learn more. Joined the team a few months later.

@alex_barashkov @Rivian I find it fairly fascinating that this kind of slow juddery map movement on turn by turn nav has basically been a thing since the early 00s and never seems to have been solved

@AstroSnoo Where did you buy this insert box to hold the media box and AppleTV? This seems like a much better approach.

@SnazzyLabs Planning stage, before the TV went up, your best option remained inserting a media box behind the TV.

Words cannot describe how much I hate the Samsung Frame Pro TV. It is the biggest pile of garbage I have purchased in years and I will literally stop buying Samsung products because I have zero confidence in their ability to do literally anything correctly.

@SnazzyLabs We have a frame as well, about the same size as yours. A year older. I don’t recall it being a “pro” model. Responds much faster. You have to use the power button on the remote to turn on the TV. Something ain’t right with either your unit or the newer models in general.

One of the coolest things about Samsung’s Frame Pro TV that further enhances the effect that it’s a painting is that when you get the remote and turn the TV on, sometimes it just doesn’t and keeps displaying art. Pretty cool effect!

Hiking at our national parks is one of my favorite things to do, and Apple Maps has thousands of amazing trails and hikes to discover. Happy #NationalParkWeek!

@rudrank I boosted mine from 36→41 over 6m by doing Fitness+ treadmill, strength, rowing, yoga and Time to Run sessions. Usually worked out more 30mins/weekday, rested weekends. Fitness+ workouts seem well tuned for bumping cardio fitness. Consistency will make it happen. Good luck!

Apple Watch friends: Have you been able to increase the VO2 max? If yes, how? Faster walks? Faster runs? I want to take it to at least 40 by the next year. 🎯

Tim Cook can sleep at night knowing the Apple Watch is saving hundreds if not thousands of lives every year. This is also why Apple doesn't rush health features. People depend on the Apple Watch for its accuracy and doctors recommend them for the same reason.

This was such a weird/fun project at Apple. Back in the day we also made a sky blue and black leather variant of this. It was a hoot.

@sdw @mholt6 The first asset handoff had the sitching baked into the background below the nav bar which made for a fun effect when pushing and popping view controllers from the nav stack.

@mholt6 Yeah, pretty sure the asset was just an entire titlebar and toolbar, lol. In the PSD the stitching was separate from the BG so I am not sure if they layered it in the final app or not — I didn’t cut the assets.
