@PosyHill1 @Portaspeciosa @heritagepilgrim Thanks for thinking of me. The first instance would appear to be used Henry VIII's son Edward who became Edward VI. If this is so, it is probably more a case of henry using heraldry for Tudor propaganda.

The Black Prince's feathers at Hornton, Oxon. He was a bit of a poster boy in the area just west of Banbury.
