Another work as a co-author got accepted to USENIX FAST 2023, this time it's Android (UFS)! I'm grateful for the team and the opportunity allowing me to work on something that's my passion. usenix.org/conference/fas… I believe it'll be published sometime in Feb, 2023.

Any recommendations on producing some real usable diagrams from AI? Maybe it needs some proper prompts but ChatGPT is still producing diagrams too basic.

The year is 2026 and Linux distros still don't have a sensible OOM policy.

@arter97 That looks more like it was scraped, not burned. Like it got caught in some high RPM delta fan and paid the price.

@amhayes8 You know what, that's actually more plausible. The fan did come off loose once. Didn't think of that.

There's 2 7000 RPM fans blowing at max whenever there's a CPU load so the cable should be cool.. not sure how could this have happened

Had to manually go over the code to review whether it was correct, but it was impressive nonetheless.

I was tired. I was 99% sure Claude won't be able to do it, especially because the VM was behind SSH, but yolo'd anyways. It found the root cause in one shot in under 6 minutes.

@prathamdby i got codex to accumulate a fractional scroll delta (offset from the last integer row) from high-resolution trackpad scroll events and make the GPU shader render text with that offset. tricky part was submitting an extra top/bottom row so the GPU renders partially occluded rows

Just past week alone, we had 3 Linux kernel LTS releases with only a single patch applied each. This world is not ready for AI-assisted cyber-security attacks.

@topjohnwu I'm 100% certain Mr John's heimdall will never encounter per-region, per-generation compatibility shenanigans that heimdall ended up never supporting and guarantee full compatibility with all Samsung phones 😎😎😎😎

@IanCutress Yeah I get 6 GHz is still niche on some places but 5 GHz is almost 20 years old and it's wild to know it's still illegal on some places (only outdoors, hotspot use but still).

TIL 5 GHz Wi-Fi is not a thing in Russia due to regulations. Holy shit.

@jafarov_adam Your device is illegal and ignoring local regulation (which is likely if you imported the device). Looking up official wireless regulations database show RU's 5 GHz ranges are only available for indoors. #1774" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">kernel.googlesource.com/pub/scm/linux/…
