Billions of rows in the browser? no sweat 😎 Internal tools should be data-centric, not built as front-ends grafted onto your data. This means: 1) Tools can be auto-generated from data rather than configured in fiddly visual IDEs 2) Performance doesn’t suck when you pass 10k rows 3) You unlock agents that actually know how to operate your tools - not rely on weird browser RPA Had a blast presenting what @howard_zuo and I have been cooking at @datalandhq

In no time at all, founder & CEO @arthurwuhoo processed & visualized billions of rows from Snowflake in his next-gen internal tool platform @datalandhq. He then built out custom actions and let loose a team of AI agents to process a backlog autonomously. dataland.io

Haven’t read the review - but I feel like linking the obituary undermines the point of the game. For me, the game showed me a big part of grief is going from overwhelm to curating your memories for yourself, and this doesn’t need to involve others’ secondary accounts about whom you’re grieving

Beautifully designed game and something that will stay with me for quite some time. There are many dormant lessons here that I expect to revisit

one metaphor for what we're building at @datalandhq is like a "bloomberg terminal" for enterprise data -- where speed + density is crucial for teams with ops-heavy functions (customer support, etc.)

This helps put language to my weird feeling when I use apps that are initially beautiful + legible (notion, airtable), but after the first hour, it feels like key info is too many clicks away + often frustratingly slow. Density of my UX is really about signal-to-noise of my time spent in these apps
Matt Ström-Awn@mattstromawn

New essay! In which I go deep on what UI density means and how to design for it — it's much more nuanced than simply how much stuff is on the screen. matthewstrom.com/writing/ui-den…

paraphrasing @Bosefina, SPC really is the talent corridor between SF + NYC. The quality and depth of other demos were fantastic, and we ran into so many old friends and builders at the Demo Faire.

Judging agent performance will based on both: 1) raw performance on tasks 2) perception that the agent is doing the right thing (perception is reality) For 1) an agent is only as good as its tools, so incumbents have much better tools to give an agent given integrated data + actions For 2) a human needs to be able to audit performance to gain trust in the agent. Easier to do when the agent is operating in the same workspace that the human is (i.e. using the same Zendesk actions/data), as opposed to some foreign workspace that the human has no concept of. I'd argue 2) is way more impt than 1), though they're not at odds

what are the good monospace fonts these days? I really dig them (probably pure nostalgia) for building tables.
