@makesyoucakes @PhadkeTai @restofworld @nytimes @washingtonpost this in an example of RoW embodying beyond-English inclusion. Even w regional language reporters in their team, these legacy outlets actively choose not inform back in those languages (even in litigious ways). Shameful.

@arturoShares @PhadkeTai @restofworld @nytimes @washingtonpost In reporting yes. But I don’t think adding a Google translate is the best example of their innovative approach to tech journalism. Many English legacy media orgs are preferring to have regional language reporters in their team, not translated text.

@makesyoucakes @PhadkeTai @restofworld @nytimes @washingtonpost not mutually exclusive + RoW does regional reporting too. only making info (innovative or not) available in single language is limiting + dumb given we’ve had good enough autotranslation for almost 10yrs. Saw impacts of this in LatAm + others w pandemic. Could’ve saved lives.
