Terrifying WW3 warning. Cenk Uygur reveals China and Pakistan officially warned they will nuke Israel if Israel drops a nuclear bomb on Iran. Trump's disastrous subservience to Netanyahu has put the entire world on the absolute brink of a nuclear holocaust.

🚨 Trump just dispatched Jared Kushner to negotiate the end of the Iran War. Not a diplomat. Not an elected official. Not a general. His son-in-law. The same man whose fund accepted $2 billion from Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund — a country with direct financial stakes in how this war ends and who controls the region after it does. Jared Kushner will sit across from foreign governments this weekend and decide whether American soldiers keep dying.

Where to find the words anymore? What to say when Israel continues to behave like this? And no condemnation at all from the UK Government. They carry on business as usual as if Israel aren't carrying out genocides in both Gaza and Lebanon. aje.news/jf7llm

Very Brexit Problems

MAGA calls Europe freeloaders. Here’s what they’re not telling you. 1. Ramstein Air Base, the most important US military hub outside America, is built on German land provided rent-free, with Germany contributing hundreds of millions to its upkeep. The US couldn’t replace it anywhere in the world. 2. Every US military operation in the Middle East, Africa and Central Asia flows through Ramstein. Lose it and US power projection in the Eastern Hemisphere is crippled. 3. The UK provides and maintains RAF Lakenheath used almost entirely by the US Air Force. Italy provides Aviano. Greece provides Souda Bay. Turkey provides Incirlik. European land. European infrastructure. American operations. 4. The US Sixth Fleet depends entirely on European ports for fuel and supplies. Souda Bay, Naples, 11 Greek ports. Without them the Sixth Fleet cannot operate in the Mediterranean or project power into the Middle East. 5. The majority of NATO’s intelligence and surveillance capacity is hosted on European soil and fed directly to the CIA, NSA and Pentagon. 6. Early warning radar at Fylingdales, UK. Missile tracking in Greenland. Norwegian monitoring stations near Russia. All dependent on European goodwill. 7. It would cost America MORE to bring the troops home than keep them here. European hosts subsidise roughly a third of all basing costs. 8. Europe is America’s largest arms customer. Stop buying American and part of their defence industry goes bankrupt. 9. The bases aren’t charity. They’re America using European soil, European money and European goodwill to project power across the world. 10. We’re not the freeloaders.

If the United States is at war, then Pete Hegseth is a war criminal. If the United States is not at war, then Pete Hegseth is a murderer. What Pete Hegseth ordered the military to do violates international law. Double tap strike on the B1 bridge in Iran while the rescue team were on-site is succession to target first responders assisting victims of the initial attack. Under the Geneva Conventions, you are obligated to rescue victims of the first attack. Abandoned any survivors and bombing them along with rescue teams is illegal, immoral, and a war crime.

Let me explain something to the MAGA crowd, because clearly someone needs to. They seem to think NATO is cosmic room service. You pick up the phone, say “hello, we’re having a bit of a war here,” and thirty-one countries march to your rescue. A continental Uber for military adventures. That is not how it works. Article 5 is a mutual defense clause. The clue is in the word mutual. And it has been triggered exactly once in NATO’s entire history. After September 11. When America was attacked. Not Europe. America. Every NATO member showed up. They went to Afghanistan. They fought. They bled. They died. In America’s war. On America’s behalf. Now imagine they hadn’t. Over 1,100 allied soldiers died in Afghanistan. British, Canadian, German, Danish, Polish. And yes, even Ukrainian soldiers, who had no NATO obligation whatsoever. Gone. Without them, those are American names on those graves. Sons from Ohio. Fathers from Georgia. Kids from Nebraska who never came home. Then there is the money. NATO allies spent over 100 billion dollars on a war that started on American soil. Without that, Washington pays every cent. On top of the 2 to 3 trillion the war already cost. And without allied bases across Europe and Central Asia, American supply lines collapse entirely. Without British forces in Helmand and Canadians in Kandahar, the Taliban reconstitutes in three years instead of ten. The gaps get filled one way. More American deployments. More American coffins arriving at Dover. Afghanistan was bloody. But NATO took the hit. Without them, every single one of those casualties would have had an American name. Trump called allies like these losers. Suckers. If you are a certain kind of broken person, that probably makes sense to you. But for the rest of us, what those soldiers did has a different name. Honor. The bond between men who have been in the same dirt, under the same fire. Between Brits and Americans, Frenchmen and Norwegians, Canadians and Danes. Not a diplomatic relationship. A blood bond. Brotherhood forged in places most people will never see and cannot imagine. In that culture, you do not mock a fallen ally. You do not sneer at the dead. It is the lowest thing a human being can do. Trump did it to a standing ovation. If you are a MAGA supporter travelling to NATO countries, understand this. There are no friendly pats on the back waiting for you. No one will buy you a beer. The governments who share your worldview sit in Minsk, Moscow and Pyongyang. Brutal dictatorships where journalists disappear, elections are theatre and dissent is a medical condition treated in basements. Not London. Not Paris. Not Rome, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Berlin or Ottawa. You have abandoned the open societies, the free press, the rule of law, the places where people actually want to live. You traded the best of civilization for a very small, very dark room. Frankly, it serves you right. Gandalv / @Microinteracti1

There is a moment in every relationship when you cross a line so spectacularly that no apology can quite cover it. America crossed that line. Then kept going. Since Trump took office, the United States has threatened to annex its closest neighbor, tried to grab a Danish territory, attacked its oldest allies, declared the EU an enemy, mocked soldiers who died under the NATO flag, praised the man those soldiers were buried defending against, hosted Kremlin officials in the actual Capitol building, rigged European elections in favor of parties that want to tear Europe apart, betrayed Ukraine in front of the entire world, and slapped punitive tariffs on every friend it had left. At some point this stops being controversial foreign policy. It becomes a declaration of intent. So when Washington arrived demanding allied support for what history will likely record as the most catastrophically misconceived military adventure since someone thought Iraq would be quick and easy, the answer was no. Non. Nein. No. Because you do not march alongside a country that spent two years making clear it considers you the enemy. America did not lose its allies. It fired them. Systematically, gleefully, and on camera. And now it is losing a war. Alone. The way you fight when you have spent years ensuring there is nobody left willing to stand next to you. Wars reveal true colors. Gandalv / @Microinteracti1

When this is over, the western part of NATO will never be the same. Spain, England, France and Italy have sold us out, as they too often have a history of doing. Eastern European nations are the heart of NATO. They spend money on defense, know how to fight and love the US. France particularly deserves fault and blame. From supporting China and Russia at the UN to denying Americans overflight rights, they’re doing what they’ve always done - showing weakness, while cutting deals with terrorists. (The reason the US has a Marine Corps and Navy is unlike France, we refused to pay a ransom to the Barbary Pirates. France is always happy to cut a deal.) Wars have unintended consequences as nations show their true colors. NATO will never be the same, and Western European weakness and acquiescence is the cause.

Remember the Western outrage about hostilities near Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant in Ukraine? Israel-U.S. have bombed our Bushehr plant four times now. Radioactive fallout will end life in GCC capitals, not Tehran. Attacks on our petrochemicals also convey real objectives.

The Most Dangerous Idiot In The Room Here is a man who once rang a New York newspaper under a fake name to tell them how extraordinarily wealthy he was. Not because he needed anything. Not because there was a point to be made. Simply because the silence in his own head had become unbearable without someone, anyone, confirming that he existed and that he was tremendous. Donald Trump is, by any reasonable measure, the most catastrophically self-regarding human being ever to be handed the nuclear codes. And I have met some truly spectacular idiots in my time. I once watched a man try to overtake a lorry on a blind corner in a Robin Reliant. Trump makes that man look like a careful, considered intellectual. The thing about genuinely dangerous people is that they are usually more threatening to their friends than their enemies. Trump has torched more alliances, betrayed more loyalists and humiliated more supporters than any foreign adversary could dream of. He opened Pandora’s box across the Middle East with the casual confidence of someone who has never actually read about the Middle East. Or anything else, for that matter. The plan, as far as anyone could tell, was to fly in, rearrange the furniture and leave with a deal so beautiful it would make your eyes water. What actually happened is what always happens when a man with no knowledge and no patience tries to solve a problem that has been fermenting since before America existed. Almost a billion people in allied nations looked at what was happening and reached the same conclusion simultaneously: this man is not well, we have nothing in common with him, and he understands nothing about anything. He calls himself a Christian. A deeply devout one, apparently. Although when asked his favourite Bible verse, he declines to share it. Because it is personal. Which is an interesting position for a man who has made absolutely everything else about himself a matter of loud, relentless, exhausting public record. The verse is personal. The fraud trials were not. The affairs were not. The bankruptcies were not. The fake newspaper calls were not. But the Bible verse. That stays between him and God. Which tells you everything, really. The mask is completely off. Trump's handler Mark Levin openly demands a permanent US military occupation of the Middle East and suggests building a base in Israel to constantly bomb Iran. American troops are literally being used as a private mercenary force for Tel Aviv.

If your first response to being asked about whether there’s a genocide in Gaza is to ridicule even asking the question or using the term, and then immediately pivot to Oct 7 and Israel’s ‘right to defend’ itself, and then only blaming Trump while ignoring Biden, then you’re probably not the right guy to be the 2028 Dem presidential candidate for the current party base (or American public for that matter).
POLITICO@politico

Dem @GovAndyBeshear is declining to call Israel’s actions in Gaza “genocide.” “That’s becoming one of those new litmus tests that we said we would never do as a party,” he told our @DashaBurns on #TheConversation. Listen to the full interview: politi.co/4uVmEfE
