Thank you so much for the shoutout. We would like to briefly share what we are working to solve in the Ethereum privacy DeFi landscape.
One of the hardest problems in onchain privacy is that balances from different privacy protocols and different chains cannot be exchanged with each other without weakening anonymity.
Today, shielded balances are fragmented. For example, Railgun shielded ERC-20 tokens on Ethereum are completely isolated from Railgun balances on BNB Chain, Polygon, or Arbitrum. The same issue exists across other privacy systems such as Tornado Cash.
This fragmentation causes uneven anonymity sets. Chains with higher usage accumulate stronger anonymity, while lower-activity chains become progressively weaker. Over time, the weak get weaker and the strong get stronger, which is fundamentally unhealthy for privacy.
With LibertySwap, we abstract away the chain boundary. Shielded Railgun ERC-20 balances are treated as a unified liquidity domain, regardless of the originating blockchain. This allows private assets to be exchanged across chains without breaking anonymity, while strengthening the global anonymity set instead of fragmenting it.

SHIELD enables users to move ETH, USDC, DAI, and USDT between RAILGUN shielded balances across different blockchains. This strengthens Railgun’s anonymity sets and gives newer, smaller blockchains a real opportunity to grow their own anonymity sets as well.

We are excited to introduce our SHIELD feature, designed as a separate system from our swap routing logic.
SHIELD enables users to move ETH, USDC, DAI, and USDT between RAILGUN shielded balances across different blockchains.
Looking ahead, this will allow shielded Railgun balances to exchange with other shielded balances from different privacy protocols. For example, USDC held in shielded Railgun balances on Ethereum ⇄ USDC in PrivateCash.
This is an experimental approach. While it could be combined into the private trading tab, the underlying logic is extremely complex. We chose to separate it, test it over time, and optimize the design before deeper integration.
