Still playing with driving a pendulum by sending the pivot point around on a vertical circle. Here's how the poincare section changes as the frequency goes from 1x to 1.2x the resonant frequency of the pendulum

Here's a shot of the Poincare section as the radius of the circle closes in on the chaos point. The blue/yellow background is a density representation indicating where the red dots are clustering.

First an animation of a pendulum whose pivot is driven around a circle. Then an image of the Poincare section of the motion showing ~100k periods. Took a while to find a combo of circle radius and friction to get some cool chaos going!

Working on a blog post about the colliding block pi calculation. Here's what happens if the collisions take a little bit of time (spring-like collisions instead of instantaneous momentum transfer). Number at top is the number of collisions of the small block (m2=100m1)
