@ElieNYC I came back to Twitter for the sole purpose of saying this--we told you Garland didn't want this and wouldn't do it. Garland has slow-walked, let statutes of limitations expire, and sided with Tr*mp/Barr at every turn. He acted to retrieve nuclear documents only as a last resort.

Defending Ben Sasse for Pres of U of FL by saying he's "not focused on politics" highlights the ignorance around the conversation. For the folks who are discriminated against, excluded, and/or have their rights taken away, we don't call that sh*t politics. It's our humanity.

@DrJasonJohnson K, I was a history major. Don’t ask or do. I appreciate historical parallels. But one-to-one comparisons aren’t particularly useful. Themes & cultural sentiments *can* be predictive, though. “Performance on TV” is a weak parallel in this segmented, short-term media environment.

The fact that you're referencing a televised presidential debate from 60 years ago to make your point underscores just how out of touch some political journalists are. Fetterman "lost" a midterm election debate. No one changed thier vote because of this performance

Yes, he had a stroke. He has lingering problems from that and his physicians say he is up to the job. That may be, but if we've learned anything since Kennedy debated Nixon it's that TV performance matters way more than it probably should.

Everybody tweeting about the Oz / Fetterman debate like we're talking about two similarly legitimate candidates. Is everyone insane? Fetterman has been working (successfully) in public service in Pennsylvania for a decade. Oz is a quack TV doctor!

Zeldin: -is an election denier -won’t even say he supports polio vaccines -blames cash bail for crime (Limiting cash bail just lessens poor folks like Kalief Browder dying in Rikers serving more time—pre-trial!—than they would if convicted for stealing.)

@espiers Campaigns are abusing fundraising email for short-term gain.* They’re also abusing email overall. Folks unsubscribe from responsible lists in a fit of pique when inboxes get flooded. *Even the short-term gain is based on bad metrics. I know a smidge but @espiers knows far more.
