The focus was on ensuring timely completion of the works at Shree Gundicha Temple well before the forthcoming Ratha Jatra. Research by @IFPRI reveals a stark reality. Women own only about 13% of agril land in India, and they earn roughly 20–22% less than men for comparable agricultural work. At the same time, the Economic Survey of India 2024–25 highlights an important structural transition underway- the rapid feminisation of agriculture. Women’s participation in agricultural activities has risen significantly, from about 55% to nearly 64%.

Women are the backbone of India’s agriculture, constituting nearly two-thirds of the agricultural workforce and contributing across every stage of the agri-food system. Yet, despite this immense contribution, profound structural disparities persist.
