Adeleke approves new logo for Osun state Osun state governor, Ademola Adeleke, has signed into law the bill adopting a new logo for the state, describing it as a signal of new rebirth. Unveiling the logo in a post via the State's X handle on Wednesday, April 17, it reads in part: "I am elated to sign this new Logo into law as a signal of the rebirth of our dear state. "The new logo is significant because it rhymes and meaningfully represents our historic anthem, our values and tradition. “The new logo is also an educational resource material for our younger generation as it contains symbols of our landmarks, strengths, resources and history. The logo is also a tool to market the state at home and abroad. “It is my honour and privilege to introduce the new logo as the symbol of our state. "This announcement will herald a new life of prosperity, abundance and sustainability for our people and admirers." Source: X | Osun_State_Gov —— Follow us for more breaking news and video content

Opposition parties are meant to be watchdogs against the ruling party; but Sowore and Bwala have decided to form opposition against Peter Obi? Is Peter Obi the President?

Third mainland bridge repairs completed, thanks to Tax-payers' money well spent... Always celebrate Tax-Payers in Nigeria! But instead, our Govt knows how to take the glory...watch as they celebrate Tinubu/Sanwoolu as if they spend their own money to do it...

The Yoruba conservative movement is real and by 2027, you will see what we are made of, right on the ground and on social media on this X space. Our mandate is simple, making sure that Tinubu slander is eradicated, Yoruba hate is extinguished and neutralizing any agenda to turn Southwest into no man's land. It's very straightforward and we have no apologies for this mission and agenda. We are not your usual politically correct and azz licking Yoruba influence:rs, we will match you, agenda for Agenda till you find another soft target apart from the Yoruba people.

If I am not Yoruba I will be jealous too. A people rich in culture & history. So anything Yoruba will surely appear as a threat to them. A culture & heritage that couldn't die in far away Brazil. Cuba. Trinidad & Tobago. Yoruba created what's known Nollywood in Nigeria today. Yoruba also dominated music. Sport & fashion in Nigeria. They don't like when we promote anything Yoruba. They don't want outsiders to see that Yoruba are the glory of Nigeria. The best economy state in Nigeria is from Yoruba land. The highest ethnic group in Africa are Yoruba. The richest ethnic group in Nigeria are Yoruba. The most influential people in Africa are Yoruba. We are the highest movies producers in Nigeria. We have stories to tell in Yoruba culture & history. Yoruba has the oldest history with calendar that's 10k years in Africa. So you understand why they always angry & quickly to say we're tribalist or bigot. They want to cage Yoruba glory as Nigeria glory. But it cannot work.

Peter Obi has never done anything extraordinary like people would want you to believe. He’s been visiting mosques during Ramadan, donating money, and breaking fast with Muslims for years. A quick search on the internet will show you publications of such. This is who he is, but, too bad, you don’t know anything about him. I love Peter Obi for who he is. His humility and genuineness speak for him.

Four days ago, I tweeted that Rollykings Hotel and Suites was “one of the many hotels in smuggling zones owned by Customs officers”. I have since discovered that Rollykings is indeed owned by a Customs agent — not a Customs officer. I make this clarification, on the one hand, in full knowledge that adherence to journalistic truth telling necessitates recantations like this when facts get mixed up; but also, on the other hand, that mouthpieces of the people whose shady livelihoods I have punctured over the last one month have found something to hold on to. Of course, everything else I’ve written so far remains the truth, in defence of which I will tender evidence and witnesses if needed in court. In my nearly-daily tweets holding the Nigeria Customs Service to account for the past two weeks, I have noted, for example, the unusually high number of hotels owned by Customs officers in smuggling zones and border towns. I am certain it is no happenstance: (i) Bradevic Hotel Aradagun, Badagry, owned by Customs officer Moses Emayo, OC Federal Operations Unit Zone A, Ikeja; true. (ii) Rao International Hotel and Suites, Km 15 Sango-Idi-Iroko Road, owned by Customs officer Najeem Akorede, popularly called ‘Najeem Custom’; true. (iii) Ar-Rakhab Beach and Holiday Resort in Badagry, owned by a retired Customs officer better known by his alias ‘Ashimi’; true. There are more hotels by Customs officers on my list that I haven’t yet named. And so the question remains valid: why are active and retired Customs officers the owners of the poshest hotels in border towns? Why hotels, why border towns, why smuggling zones? Why don’t medical doctors, surgeons, mechanical engineers, software engineers, teachers, professors, accountants, lawyers, tech bros, security experts want to own these hotels in these smuggling zones? Why mainly Customs officers, Customs agents and smugglers? Beyond the hotels, I’ve written about: (iv) how many rice warehouses in border towns are owned by Customs officers’ wives; (v) how Akeem Adigun, the notorious but tiring smuggler better known as ‘Socopao’, got two of his sons Razak and Bolaji into Customs by bribing his way through; (vi) how Owolabi Alaka and Shakiru Labeabo, two citizens who tipped Customs officers with information on smugglers, were murdered in Ado-Odo, very close to Seme border; (vii) how an informant contacted some senior officers with privileged information on IBD Dende smuggling drugs, arms and ammunition into the country, only for the informant’s number to become blacklisted; (viii) how, between 2016 and 2021 alone, Customs officers killed at least 32 innocent bystanders and petty smugglers in the Ogun West Senatorial District while chasing petty smugglers, all the while striking deals with big-time smugglers to grant them thoroughfare; (ix) and how Customs officers are permanently lodged for free at the Ilaro hotel of IBD Dende, a notorious smuggler and gunrunner, something tantamount to policemen enjoying free lodging in an armed robber’s hotel! All these and many more to come remain nothing but the truth. The rot in the Nigeria Customs Service is of monumental proportions, and continues to undermine national security and economic development. I’ll continue spotlighting it until I move on to the next story. Unfortunately for the NCS, that won’t be anytime soon!

I find myself wondering what the selling point for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s second term presidential campaign will be. Security? Electricity? Economy? Infrastructure? Affordable cost of living? It’s going to be very tough for the APC to return in 2027.
