A student of mine realized she was in a toxic relationship after one of my lectures. She broke it off. I recently learned her mom passed away when she was young. For a moment, I played a maternal role in her life. Being able to mentor young adults is a privilege & it’s needed.

We can’t teach “growth mindset” and then assess based on what a learner can’t do. Assessment must be asset-based.
