@ChuckRocha I lived in McAllen in the 2000s. Doggett was our rep. He never came to the Valley, never met our needs. I’m not just talking about border security, I’m talking about services, economic opportunity, infrastructure. He’s part of why the Valley moved right. Good riddance.

One more observation: those drawing the map clearly used the Trump 2024 results as the benchmark for where to set the lines. But Trump himself will not be on the ballot again. They’re betting a lot on replicating 2024 to get all 5 seats rather than just 3 or 4. Example A: TX 28

Even in a bad year for CA Dems (2024), you can create a 52D-0R map with no seat being less than Harris +10. Would probably eliminate 9 Republicans. If you're willing to create 1-2 GOP vote sinks, you can create a map with no seat less than Harris +14.
