1 in 4 nursing shifts are properly staffed. NHS in England is short 47k nurses. There are 6 NHS trusts with food banks or vouchers for staff. Nursing graduates now graduate with £54k debt & they’ll be 20% poorer by 2024 compared to 2010.

So he’s gone to Croydon to look at a split site elective & trauma hospital, which is not NEW, and it done in many places This ISN’T the key problem @RishiSunak - the key problem is that there aren’t enough beds (due to stuck patients due to lack of social care) or enough STAFF

This is the on call rate for any type of shift including weekends, nights, days etc If they’re not covered - which as you can imagine isn’t happening - the trust is making another registrar do two on calls doctors work or getting the SHO to do it
