Texas has released a bounty hunter drag ban. $5,000 bounty for hunters if a person performs while "exhibiting a gender that is different from gender recorded at birth" and "violates the community standards of decency." Anti-abortion techniques now target drag and trans people.

One reason that cisableism is so powerful is too few trans people recognize it. Too often, cisableism is misinterpreted as pure cissexism (e.g., when trans medicine is called mutilation), which overlooks how ableism is an essential grammar by which transphobia is mobilized.
