Happy Zen Day! 🎉 Two Years of Zen. This past year, we've crossed 500k weekly downloads and 40k GitHub stars. We delivered on highly anticipated features like Live Folders, Space Routing and Boosts. And in the coming year, we have plans to continue this run starting with Sync followed by Library, performance improvements and much more! All this wouldn't be possible without you, so thank you for being such a passionate community! 🧡💚

@im_slmn @zen_browser Do not expect a mobile version for now. The desktop app is still not in stable and that is the main focus of the devs right now.

@zen_browser But where is Zen mobile version? I want to carry my folders and my saved tabs in them everywhere. So I can reach office and share what I worked on the design resources and stuff. I want Zen mobile and Zen sync

I just had this idea what if to combat AI training, we just occasionally post AI-generated nonsense into whatever a platform hosts? If you don't spam, but just throw in those seeds, that will poison these AI bots and can't be easily filtered.

I strongly believe there are entire companies right now under heavy AI psychosis and its impossible to have rational conversations about it with them. I can't name any specific people because they include personal friends I deeply respect, but I worry about how this plays out. I lived through the great MTBF vs MTTR (mean-time-between-failure vs. mean-time-to-recovery) reckoning of infrastructure during the transition to cloud and cloud automation. All those arguments are rearing their ugly heads again but now its... the whole software development industry (maybe the whole world, really). It's frightening, because the psychosis folks operate under an almost absolute "MTTR is all you need" mentality: "its fine to ship bugs because the agents will fix them so quickly and at a scale humans can't do!" We learned in infrastructure that MTTR is great but you can't yeet resilient systems entirely. The main issue is I don't even know how to bring this up to people I know personally, because bringing this topic up leads to immediately dismissals like "no no, it has full test coverage" or "bug reports are going down" or something, which just don't paint the whole picture. We already learned this lesson once in infrastructure: you can automate yourself into a very resilient catastrophe machine. Systems can appear healthy by local metrics while globally becoming incomprehensible. Bug reports can go down while latent risk explodes. Test coverage can rise while semantic understanding falls. Changes happens so fast that nobody notices the underlying architecture decaying. I worry.

very excited for pierre and ersc but as it stands there might literally be no competition for github and this is frightening. ci and actions are absolutely necessary and no one seems to be thinking about that, am i blind to the options?

GitLab announced a layoff today. Please take this seriously. There will be many, many more. Your assignment is clear: Get skilled ---- ------ and practice shipping to prod. It doesn't matter if you're HR, eng, infra, customer success, admin, ops, sales, whatever. As a Founder/CEO, I can tell you that I won't be hiring any employees who aren't really skilled ---- ------ and able to ship to prod. I'm not alone in this. There is -- an 'engineering' org in the future.
