@obaroddy @askddietitian There is no mischief here. The post clearly is speaking about dairy milk and dairy milk derivatives. Animal Milk from which the animal fat has been removed and replaced with vegetable fat is still a dairy derivative. The technical term for it is “filled milk”, not just “milk”

@askddietitian You are being mischievous here, the argument is it is not dairy milk, Milk is originally gotten from lactating mammals, the plant base alternatives is not dairy

This is actually close to incorrect . All milk brands in Nigeria have 3 variants all written on them vividly . Full cream (100 percent milk fat present) Filled milk (milk fat removed and replaced with vegetable oil) Skimmed milk (all milk fat removed). On the label it’s written peak full cream, dano full cream . For dano it’s called dano slim for their skimmed milk . For their filled it’s called dano filled milk. So please Nigerians have access to proper milk, as this post makes it look like all the milk we have is only filled milk. For health purpose full cream is best, if you have high cholesterol skimmed milk , try as much not to take filled milk. The problem is some Nigerians do not know how to read labels nor know what they mean. Do we keep calling out the Govt for allowing nonsense in the name of filled milk ? Yes ! But we also need to balance the truth, if not we send people into frenzy , thinking the only milk they have on their shelves are filled milk when it’s not . Please learn to read your labels.
gst@wearegst

Most Nigerians think they are drinking milk. They are drinking Fat-Filled Milk Powder (FFMP). In the EU, FFMP can’t be sold as milk, it must be labelled as a milk ingredient, not a dairy product. Here, it’s “milk”. Nigerians are eating what others aren’t allowed to call food.

@Tommy_InMillion @AmaSerebour @immortalstats Check on the container “Each 100g contains…” “Each serving contains…” “Each teaspoonful contains…” It is the first line responsibility of parents and caregivers to read labels and control feeding habits of their kids. Baby formula is not medicine! It’s NOT a must. Moderate!

@UmehWrites @immortalstats @fribone I’m so glad this discussion won’t progress further because you all make no sense while at it. Everyone is so knowledgeable but won’t read labels. Cerelac is not medicine. Your child can do without it but you all prefer to replace a balanced diet with baby formula. EOD

This is actually an ignorant take, and I will only respond this one time. If someone wants to take sugar, they know it’s sugar they take. If someone wants to eat something else, sugar should not be 50% of that thing, it’s like saying you ate cerelac and sugar because it’s the same quantity. Please think before you type.

@UmehWrites @immortalstats @fribone Sugar is 100 percentage sugar and no one is complaining about Dangote selling a product that has 100% sugar. If people feel that a product is too sugary then they should cut down on the amount of the product they consume Parents need to take the responsibility for their child.

My wife has been fighting me because I refused to pay ₦500,000 to bury her father. Her family shared the bill for all the sons-in-law ₦500k each. Meanwhile, the man has five grown sons. I told my wife, “I’m sorry, but it’s not my responsibility to bury your father when his own sons are alive and well.” She reported me to her family. They called me, expecting me to comply. I told them clearly; I will give what I can, but I won’t be forced to pay a fixed amount. They got angry, called me rude, and said they don’t want my money again. Now my wife hasn’t spoken to me since. I'm the one being punished for refusing to do what her brothers should be doing.

One person gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty.
