@asksol The problem is only ThreadPoolExecutor knows how many threads are actually in use at any given time. Testing it now but this is what I came up with: with self.pool._work_queue.mutex: idle_threads = len(self.pool._work_queue.not_empty._waiters)

@kantrn Oh, that should be possible, but it’s in concurrent.future. Is there any way you can wrap it to do what you want? Shouldn’t have to read the code, you could make an abstraction over ThreadPoolExecutor

@asksol Funny you should ask, prometheus exporter for Celery so I can see how many threads in the ThreadPoolExecutor are active over time.
