With warm weather hitting both NorCal and SoCal this week, many are thinking about visiting our world-famous beaches. I’ve introduced AB 1938 to help communities identify State Surfing Reserves, a designation that will help highlight the long history of surfing on our coast and foster support for the communities who make our local costal economies a vibrant part of our state.

Thank you @VenturaCountyDA & @GIFFORDS_org Law Center for hosting yesterday's Gun Violence Restraining Order (GVRO) symposium. My 2025 bill, AB 1344, expanded the law by providing for a pilot program that includes 4 counties, including Ventura, that allow DA's to seek court approval to remove firearms from those who pose a danger to themself or others. DA Erik Nasarenko has taken the lead by providing this training for others.
