Know the signs of heat stress before the heat! Most people working outdoors are unaware that heat exhaustion or heat stroke. Schedule activities for the coolest part of the day and stay hydrated.

Be ready for today's heat continuing through the rest of the work week - with little day-to-day changes especially inland of the beaches. Some relief is expected into early next week. #cawx

Overnight Miles for Heroes Never Forgotten Riders from our department and partner agencies came together for an overnight training ride in preparation for the 2026 Police Unity Tour. During the ride, we paused to honor three of our fallen Special Enforcement Bureau AED Detectives, Victor Lemus, Joshua Kelley Ecklund, and William Osborn. Their courage, sacrifice, and dedication to protecting others will always be remembered. Their names will soon be engraved on the National Peace Officers Memorial Wall in Washington, D.C., where they will forever stand among the heroes who gave their lives in the line of duty. We ride for those who died.
We ride so they are never forgotten. 🚴‍♂️🕊️

In light of current global events, the Department remains at an elevated level of readiness and is maintaining increased vigilance as we continue to protect our residents of Los Angeles County. We are working closely with our federal and local law enforcement partners to share intelligence and monitor the ongoing conflict in the Middle East and assess any potential impacts in our communities. The safety of the public remains our highest priority. As part of our preparedness efforts, we remain attentive to all potential threats, including lone-actor attacks, sleeper cells, and advanced technological or cyber-related threats. Out of an abundance of caution, and in recognition of current religious observances, the Department has continued increased patrols around places of worship, cultural institutions, and other prominent locations throughout the County. We have proactively reviewed our deployment plans, enhanced coordination with our patrol stations, and ensured that additional resources are available should they be needed. Additionally, the Department has cultural liaisons who work directly with community members to address concerns and foster engagement. We also recognize that some of the most valuable intelligence comes from the public. Our residents are the eyes and ears of our communities, and we encourage everyone to remain aware of their surroundings, including online and in digital spaces. Suspicious activity should always be reported to law enforcement.
