@RoyalMailHelp I sent a parcel by International Tracked to Australia. Its said 'cleared awaiting international departure at Langley UK' since 29th November (2weeks). Please contact me, I want to make sure it's moved along and unsure if I should post the tracking number publicly.

@mantascox @SimonCalder Annoying but - FCDO advice is concerned with your safety re COVID in country whilst traffic lights is about bringing COVID back into the UK. Eg, could be that a country has low cases but also only has 2 ICU beds. You can still go and there are insurers who will cover you.

@SimonCalder Why is foreign office advice different for the countries you mention? Has huge insurance implications and triggers cancellations so what use is moving them to amber if you still can’t go?

Red list changes this morning: Turkey, Kenya, Pakistan and Oman now amber, as are Egypt, the Maldives, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. But the Foreign Office continues to warn against travel to the last four “based on the current assessment of Covid-19 risks”. independent.co.uk/travel/news-an…

Over a year of restriction, last minute rule changes and sometimes torturous media speculation. Hopefully the travel industry will finally get the news it needs today..... #Travel

@Comeon66274096 @PPaulCharles Because travel providers need people to travel to make revenue to pay employees and to continue to exist. Many are effectively still shut under the current system.

Government need to mind the furlough gap - furlough ends on 30th September so travel changes should logically start from 1st October. How long will that gap be between the end of furlough and removing many restrictions? Many jobs depend on the answer.

@TWMCLtd @WortherWorthers @SimonCalder @rboyle I think they only removed the advice for 20 of 140 countries. For example they are still advising against all but essential travel to Croatia where there are few cases at all.

@WortherWorthers @SimonCalder @rboyle @TWMCLtd Additionally, the FCDO advise against 'all but essential travel' to most Amber List countries which invalidates many insurance policies. You'll be covered for most green countries.

@SimonCalder @rboyle @TWMCLtd Is there any difference between Green and Amber anymore though? Neither require isolation, and the testing requirements are the same.

@TelegraphTravel @SimonWIParker Let's have a travel show with an industry professional in. Food shows always have a chef. There are so many misconceptions around what the travel industry even is and how it works. It really doesn't help consumers or the industry in times like these. A Tom Kerridge of travel!
