Let us see if you can provide an answer in a single tweet: Why do arrays start at 0?

There should be a DSL for writing compilers and transpilers. A simple compiler for a simple language is easy, but nowadays people expect all sorts of modern features like error highlighting, advanced error reports, compiler server, code formatting. And that's hard!

I’m pleased to present the flame-bait sequel to my previous blog post: “No, dynamic type systems are not inherently more open.” (Please send me your hatemail at your earliest convenience.) lexi-lambda.github.io/blog/2020/01/1…

@matheusfrndes Elm json decoders help with this! First they're annoying, but then they fix this as you kondof define a parser for the expected json data.

@dan_abramov Yes we need IDEs/languages operating at the AST level. Isomorf was an interesting project - it had full structural editing, evaluation of code in-place, and switchable syntax (since it's a projection of the AST) blog.isomorf.io/what-is-isomor…

Excited about the GitHub npm registry, but also concerned. Say you publish @foo/bar only to GitHub and it becomes popular, then someone else publishes @foo/bar on npm copying the README from GitHub but containing malicious code. Very easy to accidentally install from npm. 🤔

Getting your code into production consistently, reliably, and 1000x a month requires end-to-end automation, from code to cloud. GitHub Actions and Packages make it as easy as 1, 2, 3. And now both are out of beta and available for everyone 🙌 #GitHubUniverse

Before publishing my Kotlin library to Maven Central I had to claim a namespace through a Jira ticket 🤯 That's probably one reason why npm has so much more published packages.

@bradleymeck Actually MooTools did this: new (new Class({...})) Was possible, where instances of `Class` were classes before JS had `class`. Usually you'd do `var X = new Class({...})`

fun with JS ? nested dynamic class construction: let y = new new X; If you find yourself doing this, there are many questions I have to ask you.
